The Russian satellite television operator Tricolor has developed its own system of error codes that notifies subscribers about the nature of the malfunction. I use the services, and the question may arise: “Tricolor TV error 11: how to fix it on the second receiver?” Error codes starting with “10” refer to problems with replenishing a personal account, lack of payment for services and the inability to obtain the user’s personal data. The error can be quickly diagnosed and corrected independently. Let's take a closer look at the factors that influence the occurrence of a malfunction and how to eliminate them.
What is an “info channel” from Tricolor TV
The information channel (IC) corresponding to button 0 is a program available on all configured receivers. It serves as a kind of indicator of equipment installation. If the info channel starts, it means there is a connection with the receiver, the antenna is connected and aimed at the desired satellites. So even when Tricolor does not show any channel except the info channel, there is good news: the equipment is working properly.
IR is included in the basic TV package and is provided free of charge. The company broadcasts advertising and informational messages here. In the running line and on the main part of the screen, short instructions on how to fix problems, pay bills, and hotline phone numbers for contacting support specialists are displayed.
Connecting Tricolor TV receivers to network equipment
In this scheme, the client and server are not connected to each other directly, but are connected to the network equipment, as in Figure 2. This connection scheme requires two patch cords and two free ports of the network equipment: 1) Connect the patch cord to the Ethernet port on back panel of the server. 2) Connect the other end of the patch cord to a free port on your network equipment. 3) Connect the second patch cord to the Ethernet port on the rear panel of the client. 4) Connect the other end of the second patch cord to a free port on your network equipment. 5) Power on the server and client. It is also necessary that the power to the network equipment is turned on.
Why don’t they show channels on Tricolor TV, except for info channels?
Of the possible reasons why Tricolor shows only the info channel, the company names 6.
- The equipment is not registered and/or activated. Register on the operator’s website https://public.tricolor.tv/#Registration/NetAbonent, if you have not done so already, and confirm the data. You will need passport, ID smart cards, receiver model, contacts. Then turn on the receiver and TV, select any channel and wait until it starts working. The picture and, accordingly, access to broadcasting appear after a minimum of 10 minutes, a maximum of 8 hours.
- There is no paid period for the provision of services, and there are insufficient funds in the account. Log in to your personal account and top up your account. You must pay for the service manually, distributing the credited funds between the ordered products.
- The smart card is not installed correctly. To correct the error, disconnect the receiver from the network, remove the card and wipe it. Return it to the slot, positioning it so that the chip is in contact with the contacts on the receiver. Plug the latter into the network - and the job is done.
- Failures in equipment configuration. If IR works but other channels are unavailable, try rebooting the receiver. It didn’t help - go to settings and reset to factory settings. Afterwards you will have to re-enter the activation codes. Look for the desired combination in your personal account or request it on the hotline for subscribers.
- Outdated receiver firmware. To find out the current firmware version, write to the operator in the online chat on the website. If it does not match the installed one, update.
- The console overheated, froze, and had not been used for a long time. In this case, it is practically impossible to do anything on your own - just reboot and turn off for 30 minutes.
If you were unable to find out why the broadcast was suspended, call the hotline by phone or directly from the website. Specialists will help you carry out an initial diagnosis, ask about the frequency of the problem and recommend a professional for a solution.
Setting up the receiver - GS E501 Tricolor TV server
1) After connecting the receivers to the local network, set the server network parameters in the “Setup Wizard” application at the “Network Settings” step (or in the “Settings” application, in the “Network” section), see Figure 3.
2) Using the remote control buttons “←/→”, “↑/↓”, move the focus to “Ethernet 0” and, by pressing the “OK” button, select the method of obtaining an IP address for the server: “DHCP”, as shown in Figure 4 or• “Link• local” as shown in Figure 5. DHCP is not applicable for the direct link scheme. For this receiver connection scheme, you must select the Link local method. To connect to network equipment, depending on the presence of a DHCP server in the network, both DHCP and Link local can be selected. The settings for the method of obtaining IP addresses (Link local or DHCP) must be the same for the client and server.
3) Using the remote control buttons “←”, “Exit” return to the list of network interfaces window
Tricolor TV only shows the info channel: what to do?
When Tricolor does not work and only the info channel remains active, proceed according to the following scheme:
- turn off the set-top box, unplug it and leave it in that position for half an hour. Evaluate the cable that goes from the receiver to the TV;
- remove the smart card, inspect for damage and wipe the chip contacts. Check the date of manufacture with the expiration date of the warranty. Most often, cards work for 3 years, and then need to be replaced;
- install the IC in the slot, start the receiver;
- check whether the period of service provision has been paid for. If necessary, top up your account;
- reset settings to factory defaults, update activation codes and firmware. For the latter, turn on channel 333, wait for the notification asking you to install the latest version of the software and confirm the action.
Reasons why the list of Tricolor TV regions is not available
If a TV connected to the Tricolor TV network writes that the list of regions is not available, this means that the signal supply is disrupted and there may be several reasons:
- New, not yet calibrated equipment;
- The exact position of the antenna is lost;
- The F-connector on the satellite dish is damaged;
- The access card was installed incorrectly;
- Violation of the integrity or insulation of connecting cables;
- There is not enough power to operate the converter;
- The set-top box has several conflicting connections;
- Errors in connecting devices;
- System software failure, etc.
The reasons can be very different, so diagnosis should be carried out in stages.
Setting up the receiver-client GS C591 Tricolor TV
1) After setting up the server, set the client’s network parameters in the “Setup Wizard” application at the “Network Settings” step (or in the “Settings” application in the “Network” section), see Figure 8.
2) Using the remote control buttons “←/→”, “↑/↓”, move the focus to “Ethernet 0” and, by pressing the “OK” button, select the method of obtaining an IP address for the client: “DHCP”, as shown in Figure 9 or• “Link local” as• shown in Figure 11 DHCP is not applicable for the direct connection described in section 3. Link local must be selected for this receiver connection scheme. To connect to network equipment described in section 4, depending on the presence of a DHCP server in the network, both DHCP and Link local can be selected. The settings for obtaining IP addresses (Link local or DHCP) must be the same for the client and server. 3) After the client and server have received IP addresses, the client must find the server on the local network: information about the server will be displayed in the field under the “Select server” heading, as shown in Figure 10.
“90000101010518917315799” in the example in the pictures is the identifier (serial number) of your GS E501 receiver.
4) To connect to the server, use the “↑/↓” remote control buttons, move the focus to the line with the server ID and press the “OK” button. After a successful connection to the server, the message “Connection established with the receiver-server 90000101010518917315799” will be displayed, as shown in Figure 11.
5) If the screen still looks like in Figures 8 and 9 (the client has not received an IP address, an empty list of servers), and also as in Figure 12 (the client’s “Ethernet 0” network interface is not connected to the local network), this means there is a problem connecting the client and/or server. A general list of problems when connecting a client and steps to resolve them are given in Table 2.
6) Configuring the client’s network parameters is completed after eliminating the possible problems described above and receiving a message indicating a successful connection to the server, shown in Figure 11. 7) The next steps are to complete the client configuration, including determining the operator and region, searching for channels and watching content on the connected TV to the client.
The length of the patch cord should not exceed 100 meters. Patch cords are not included in the delivery package for the GS C591 and GS E501 receivers and must be purchased or manufactured by the user independently. It is very important that the network cable is crimped correctly and efficiently. The cable is crimped in a standard network method, i.e., a “direct” connection, when the twisted pair pinout for both ends of the cable must be the same.
For more information on how to crimp a cable for use in connecting receivers, see the article “How to crimp a twisted pair cable.”
Satellite television operator Tricolor TV has established itself as a reliable provider of quality services, but not a single subscriber is immune from errors in the operation of a complex and technologically advanced satellite television system. Error 0 on Tricolor receivers occurs both due to technical failures and the fault of subscribers and is a very common occurrence.
Causes of problems
There may be several reasons why there is no connection with the server, or the client receiver in the Tricolor system for 2 TVs does not work. The list of the most common ones looks like this:
- incorrect software update order;
- mismatch of firmware versions, when the client receiver writes “no connection”;
- poor signal reception, variable intensity;
- service packages have not been paid for;
- physical malfunctions of equipment and network facilities.
How to deal with the last problem is clear to most users. The GS C592 client or other system device must be returned for service, and the cable structure must be checked and repaired. However, you should not use handicraft methods, where this may lead to a decrease in the quality of signal transmission.
If you are not confident in carrying out the work on your own, it is better to seek help from specialists or order a visit from a specialist by calling the Tricolor technical support service. Below are options for what to do to get rid of other problems on the list.
How to solve a problem
Check your receiver settings carefully:
If you do too, read on.
Reset

- Turn on your TV, turn on the tuner, then take the remote control and press “Menu”
- Click “About Receiver”
- Select “Reset settings” from the list and click “OK.” If prompted to enter a PIN code, “Enter 0000.”
After performing the reset, you must try to configure the channels again.
Checking the network cable for damage
Check the power cord for mechanical damage. If you find damage that will be very difficult to repair on your own, we advise you to seek help from a specialist.
Account balance
First of all, you need to check the balance in your account:
- Open https://www.tricolor.tv/.
- Select your personal account in the upper right corner.
- Enter your ID and password, click log in.
- If you have forgotten your password, you can recover it by clicking “Get/Recover Password”
