Connecting and setting up the ZALA interactive television set-top box

This article shows how to connect the Zala interactive television set-top box to a modem and how to configure the set-top box on the TV. A diagram of connecting all involved elements for correct operation is also provided.

The modem is connected to a 220V line and through a splitter to a telephone line. The main telephone socket and telephone set are also connected to the splitter. The set-top box is connected to the modem in the 4th Lan port, to a 220V socket and to the TV with an RCA (tulip)/HDMI/Scart cable. The equipment comes with standard length wires of 1.5 meters. The equipment set is shown in the figure below. The set-top box includes a power supply, an RJ-45 network cable, an RCA cable (tulip), an HDMI cable and a remote control.

We connect everything as in the diagram above; if the cable length is not enough, the subscriber must purchase a cable of the required length independently. After connecting, you need to use the TV remote control to switch it to AV mode (if connected with an RCA cable), to HDMI mode (if connected with an HDMI cable) and to Scart mode, respectively.

If the set-top box has not been pre-configured, then you need to configure it yourself; to do this, after turning off, press the large SET button on the set-top box remote control (third row from the top) and enter the password 6321, then press OK.

Is it possible to connect digital broadcasting to Soviet TV?

3. Is it possible to connect ZALA to a CRT TV or do you only need an LCD or plasma TV?

The type of TV can be any. Is it possible to connect ZALA to both a regular CRT TV, including domestically produced ones (JSC Vityaz, Unitary Enterprise ZEBT Horizont), and to an LCD or plasma panel. The main thing is that the following requirements are met:

1) composite CVBS (“tulip”);

Thirdly, it is necessary to ensure that the modem is connected to the line (ADSL line or PON optical line.

5. Is it possible to connect a TV to STB via Wi-Fi or STB to a modem via Wi-Fi?

It is possible to connect the STB to the modem via Wi-Fi using the ZTE W200C Wi-Fi adapter or an equivalent. It should be noted that the quality of the service may deteriorate. But you cannot connect your TV via Wi-Fi to STB.

6. Is it possible to connect ZALA using a wireless phone (WLL technology)?

No. Interactive television services are provided only through a wired subscriber line.

7. I decided to connect HD packages, now I have a regular SD set-top box, what should I do for this?

11. My console remote control (or power supply) is broken. Do I need to replace the entire set of equipment, or can I just buy the damaged part?

12. 22. What is the quality of the transmitted ZALA signal?

Currently, standard definition video is transmitted in PAL format 720x576 pixels. For HDTV, the signal resolution is 1280x720 or 1920x1080 pixels.

Audio is encoded from 96 kbps to 192 kbps depending on the channel.

Thus, the maximum time of paid and free blocking that you can use in a year is 75 days (2.5 months).
