TricolorTV users rarely encounter problems with broadcasting TV channels, but sometimes it does happen. The system assigns codes and numbers to each error so that the user can quickly figure out why they occurred. Today we’ll look at error number “0,” which can interrupt the broadcast of your favorite programs by requiring you not to touch the receiver for the next 8 hours.
What does error 0 mean?
This error occurs when access to viewing channels is lost or the receiver cannot decode the channels. Most often this happens due to a glitch in the receiver's software. This can happen due to a voltage drop in the electrical network and for a number of other reasons.
Attention! Regardless of the reason for the “0” error, access to viewing will NOT be restored if even the Information (zero) channel is NOT working for you.
Below we will look at each of them in detail. For those who don’t want to go into the details of why it doesn’t show, but just want to know what to do, here are a few basic ways to restore broadcasting.
Why does this error occur?
Let's look at the main reasons for the lack of access to TV channels.
- Problems with subscription.
First, make sure that the subscription is paid and there are no problems with it. It is possible that there is no access to TV channels due to the fact that payment for the tariff plan was overdue. Go to the official website of the provider and log in to your personal account. Open the “Check subscriptions” section. In addition, subscription verification is carried out through the receiver menu.
- The Smart card is not installed correctly.
If everything is paid, then why does the error text 0 appear? It is possible that the cause of the failure was incorrect installation of the conditional access card. Perhaps the Smart card has simply become dusty. To solve the problem, take it out and wipe it clean. Then run diagnostics to see if the receiver reads the card; to do this, press the buttons on the remote control that correspond to the ID number; as a result, an information table will be displayed on the display. Pay attention to the DRE ID item; if the Smart card number is displayed here, it means it is working correctly.
- Long equipment downtime.
If the receiver was not connected to the network for a long period of time, an error could occur because of this.
- Problems with antenna tuning.
Sometimes the zero fault periodically disappears, and another "No Signal" alert appears in its place. In this case, the problem lies in incorrect installation of the antenna. Set up your satellite dish. You can do this yourself or contact a specialist.
- The software version is outdated.
For the correct version of the receiver, it is necessary to install software updates in a timely manner, otherwise failures will occur periodically. To check the relevance of the software version you are using, go to the provider’s website, and then go to the “Software” section.
Reasons for the error
REASON #1 There was a system failure in the receiver software.
This can happen due to a power surge, a power outage, or even for no apparent reason.
WHAT TO DO
You need to reboot the receiver by simply unplugging it from the outlet. Wait 5 minutes and then turn it on again. Wait until the receiver is fully loaded and switch it to any encrypted channel, for example, to the first one. If the reason was a system failure and you have a modern receiver, broadcasting will be restored quickly enough. Despite the simplicity of the method, it is often quite sufficient to restore viewing.
REASON #2 Your subscription to paid channels has expired, in other words, your receiver has not been paid for.
WHAT TO DO
First, check if you have an active subscription to the main package on your equipment. If there is no active subscription, then you may have forgotten to pay for the channel package or paid incorrectly. You need to make sure that the service is always active. Having money in the receiver's account does not guarantee access to watching channels. An active subscription is always expressed in days, not in rubles.
You can check it in your personal account on the operator’s website tricolor.tv, or on the main page of the same website in the “check subscriptions” section. You can also call the Tricolor hotline 8-800-500-0123
(other communication methods)
If it turns out that the paid period has ended and there is no money in the account, then this may well be the cause of the “0” error. Pay the annual subscription fee in any way convenient for you. All payment methods are here.
After payment, the receiver must be kept ON on the first channel until the error disappears.
If there are no other reasons for the failure, the display will quickly recover. If it turns out that everything has been paid for, but the receiver does not show it, then the reason is something else.
REASON #3 The smart access card is installed incorrectly.
Sometimes the error is caused by an incorrectly installed smart card or its absence at all. Less commonly, there is a malfunction of the card itself or the card slot.
WHAT TO DO
First you need to check if this is true. To do this, go to the receiver status. (Button on the remote control “STATUS”, “No. ID” or “TricolorTV” depending on the remote control model). The card number (also known as the ID number of the receiving equipment) should be displayed on the screen. This is 12 or 14 digits. If it is displayed, then everything is fine here, move on to the next reason.
If there is no number or it says “no card,” then check whether the smart card is inserted correctly. Perhaps it is turned over the wrong way or simply does not go all the way into the slot. Pull it out, carefully wipe it and insert it back until it stops.
For receivers u510, u210, e212 the card is inserted with the chip facing up, for others with the chip facing down. And for all receivers, the direction of the arrow on the card must coincide with the direction of installation in the slot.
Not all receiver models are equipped with a smart card as such; many modern models work without it (data from the card is integrated into the receiver program). However, in the receiver status the number of this same card should be displayed in any case. Without this, correct operation of the equipment will be impossible.
When you have done all the manipulations with the access card, but the receiver still does not see its number, you can try resetting the receiver to factory settings and configuring it again (see below). All other methods for eliminating error “0” will be useless. You will have to contact the service center.
REASON #4 Activation keys have been reset
If you have not used Tricolor for some time, and the receiver has been turned off for more than 5 days, then it is quite possible that it has “lost” the activation codes that come from the satellite. The same situation may arise if the receiver has not been paid for for some time. The keys for channel decoding are reset. You can read in detail about why activation keys disappear in a separate section. Here we will take this as a given and describe the steps to restore them.
WHAT TO DO
You need to leave the receiver turned on on one of the encrypted channels for a while. Most likely, the broadcast will be restored on its own without any additional actions quite quickly (usually no more than an hour). In this case, you can turn off the TV, because he does not take any part in this process.
Activation keys are updated automatically from the satellite as soon as your receiver is online.
However, this process can be speeded up by requesting that the activation commands be repeated manually. This is done in several ways: 1.
In your personal account on the operator’s website tricolor.tv, you need to click the “Re-activate” button
2.
Call the Tricolor hotline at
8-800-500-01-23 3.
Call your dealer
4.
Re-activate the keys directly through the receiver menu (only available on the latest models). On the remote control there is a button “Tricolor TV” - in the left column there is an item “Repeat activation commands”.
If error “0” occurred precisely because the keys were lost, and you have not outdated equipment and a correctly configured dish, then the receiver will work within a few minutes after sending the codes.
Important! Before resuming viewing, the receiver must be kept ON on the first channel in order to fully pass the decoding keys and restore viewing.
REASON No. 5 Poor signal quality, bad weather conditions
One of the common reasons for the appearance of error “0” is an insufficiently good signal from the satellite or its absence. The reason for this may be a poorly tuned dish, cable damage, or even unfavorable weather conditions. Learn more about the reasons for the lack of signal and how to eliminate them in another article.
WHAT TO DO
You can check the satellite signal status yourself. On the receiver's remote control, press the red button, then the blue one. At the bottom of the screen two scales will appear: strength and quality. Both of these scales must be at least 2/3 full.
On some receiver models, the indicators may be lower, this does not mean that they require a different signal level, they just have a lower scale.
It is possible to accurately measure the level and quality of a satellite signal only with the help of a special device, so sometimes it is impossible to do without calling a specialist.
Before performing any actions with the plate, make sure that there is no debris, leaves, snow, etc. on it, and that it is not raining heavily, there are no lead clouds hanging over, or similar natural phenomena. Sometimes it is enough to simply clean the plate carefully or wait for the weather to improve. If everything is fine with the weather and nature, you can try to adjust the antenna yourself. Slowly move the plate while simultaneously monitoring the state of the scales. As soon as the scales are at the proper level, fix the antenna. However, it is not recommended to do this yourself, so as not to aggravate the situation even further. This is one of those cases when it is better to invite a specialist.
Attention! If the satellite signal level is insufficient, the receipt of activation keys for your equipment can be extremely difficult, if not impossible.
A technician will visit you to set up the signal: 8
8 (966) 045 - 62 - 80
REASON No. 6 Error during software update or outdated software version
If you have not updated the software on the receiving equipment in a timely manner, an error may well occur
WHAT TO DO
Check what firmware version is on your receiver. To do this, press the “STATUS”, “ID No.” or “TricolorTV” button on the remote control, depending on the remote control model. The version installed on the receiver will appear on the screen. Current software versions.
If it turns out that the firmware is old, you can try to update it.
You need to be more careful when updating outdated models of receivers, because... due to its technical backwardness, the receiver may simply not accept the new firmware and will simply “die” during the update.
With modern models everything is simpler. The entire update process consists of two parts: updating the receiver software and updating the module software. Step-by-step instruction
Attention! It is imperative to go through all two stages, because the error often occurs precisely due to an incomplete update.
If the latest version of the software is installed, and the receiver still writes “error 0,” then the reason must be looked for in something else.
What to do
In each specific case it is necessary to act differently.
Equipment failure
Receivers may be damaged due to user interaction or temporary wear and tear. If the problem is not in the signal, then you can restore the broadcast in the following ways:
- Turn on the receiver and wait 5-10 minutes. If the failure is not critical, the broadcast will resume on its own.
- Reboot the receiver by unplugging it from the socket, waiting 20 seconds to 5 minutes, and plugging it back in.
If these two methods do not help, then the failure of the receiver is critical - you may need to replace it or send it for repair. In this case, you need to contact TricolorTV support and report problems so that the company can send a technician for diagnostics.
No payment
If you missed the payment date for the next channel subscription period, the broadcast will not resume until you top up your TricolorTV account and send the funds “as intended” to the selected package of channels. You can check whether this is the reason for blocking the broadcast in your TricolorTV personal account. And there you can immediately pay for everything with a bank card.
After replenishing your account, do not forget to indicate which channel package you want to pay for, otherwise the money will hang on your account and the broadcast will not resume.
Problems with the smart card or dish
If you suspect that something is wrong with the smart card, you can check whether it is installed correctly by pressing the ID button on the remote control - if everything is in order, the number assigned to the card should appear on the screen. Otherwise, remove the card and install it with the correct side according to the instructions for the receiver.
Problems with the antenna are solved “physically”. If there are leaves on the plate, remove them. If the plate has moved, correct its position. You can monitor the signal level, as usual, through the receiver settings. Remember that the desired values are in the range above 70-80% on the two reception scales.
Software problems
The software needs to be updated on time, but not all receiver models support it. If your error 0 appeared after trying to update the software, try :
- Check whether the receiver supports the new version of the software - you can do this on the TricolorTV website.
- Roll back the update through settings or reset the receiver to factory settings.
- Run the update again and wait for installation without turning off the receiver - this may help if last time you did not wait for the update to finish or there was a glitch during the process.
After switching to the “Unified” package
Problems with switching to other packages, including promotional ones, arise due to the fact that users are in too much of a hurry to enjoy new channels.
TricolorTV systems do not immediately switch your receiver to receive new TV channels; it takes about 8 hours to calibrate the signal. Users who immediately want to watch new programs using the “Unified” package are faced with error 0 due to their impatience.
To eliminate the error, you need to follow the rules for switching to a new package, namely, leave the receiver turned on for eight hours after paying for the new package. This must be done on any paid channel, otherwise the reconfiguration may not occur.
During this time (often you don’t have to wait that long, the system “loads” the information in 3-5 hours), the receiver will reconfigure and the signal will begin to arrive as usual.
After a long absence and when activation commands fail
Turning off the receiver for a long time disables signal activation commands. The keys must be resent if you want to continue enjoying the stream. This is done like this:
- You need to visit LC TricolorTV on the website.
- After logging into your account, find the “Send activation keys” button on the main screen.
- Leave the receiver turned on on a paid channel as with the usual first configuration of the receiver.
- Wait for the signal to be set up and recalibrated - the procedure takes from 5 to 8 hours.
There have been cases when the system coped within two hours, but sounding the alarm and shouting “it didn’t help” before 8 hours was useless. This is the standard service time for recalibration of TricolorTV equipment, and even technical support will tell you to wait until the standard period has expired.
If all else fails
The latest way to restore the signal and broadcast is to reset the receiver to factory settings. This method is used when none of the above worked, and the TV stubbornly shows “Error 0”.
Important! Your data, lists of favorite channels and preferences will not be saved.
Resetting to factory settings in TricolorTV receivers is done as follows:
- Go to Menu – Settings (depending on the receiver model).
- Specify 0000 as the reset password.
- Click “Factory reset” or any similar phrase.
- Confirm that you are confident in your actions.
- Wait for the receiver to reboot.
- Immediately after rebooting, turn it off without tuning channels.
- Turn on the receiver after 10-15 minutes in the off state.
- Search for channels as during the first setup.
When searching for channels again, you may need to resend the activation keys to the receiver.
If this does not help, you must report the problems to TricolorTV. Most often you have to contact us if there is a problem with the equipment - the antenna, dish or the receiver itself. As a rule, they cannot be eliminated without qualified help from craftsmen and repairs.
You can contact TricolorTV by calling the hotline or using the technical support contact form on the website.
A radical way to eliminate error “0”
If all previous causes have been checked and eliminated, you can use another method to correct error “0”.
You need to reset all receiver settings to factory settings. In this case, the receiver is, as it were, “reset”, all channels and user settings are erased, and at the same time all the “glitches” that the receiver has accumulated during its operation. You shouldn’t be afraid of this procedure; you can handle it yourself. Step-by-step instructions for resetting the receiver to factory settings for all receiver models are provided in a separate article.
After the reset, you will have to configure the receiver again, but this is not that difficult, all the prompts will appear on the TV screen. Many receivers begin to work normally after a reset to factory settings.
Self-tuning Tricolor TV
“Tricolor” may appear on the TV screen. No signal" or "Error code 0". Low signal or weather conditions may affect satellite performance.
To check the signal level, you must:
- Press the “F1” key on the remote control several times. If model 8306 Tricolor has “Error 0”, press the red and blue buttons.
- 2 scales will appear in the left corner of the screen: they should reach 70% or higher.
- If the signal level is less than half, you need to check the condition of the dish.
This parameter is also affected by precipitation and cloudiness. On a sunny day, if the Tricolor shows “No access,” you need to move the satellite dish a little. Rules:
- move gradually, checking the signal level every five seconds;
- if the signal does not appear, turn in the opposite direction;
- When the reception level reaches the desired value, leave the plate in the selected position.
Please note: Some receivers may have lower signal strength. This means that they simply have a low scale.
Before using the method described above to remove Error 0, you should inspect the device to see if there are leaves, snow or any debris on it. You need to remove disturbing objects or wait for weather conditions to improve.
The owner needs to constantly look at what happened to the scale as soon as he changed the position of the plate. If the settings are performed incorrectly, the Tricolor receiver will write “Error” and stable operation can only be restored by calling a technician.
You have outdated equipment - is there anything that can be done?
The concept of “obsolete equipment” is purely relative. Check your model There are some models of receivers that seem to be not so old, but stubbornly refuse to work and, despite all the above-described actions, continue to give an error “0”. For some reason, often unclear, their technical condition does not allow the set-top box to operate adequately and viewing becomes unavailable. Broadcasting parameters are constantly being improved, and set-top boxes made using old technologies do not always respond adequately to innovations.
Advice! Turn on the set-top box to the first all-Russian channel and do not turn it off for at least 72 hours. Maybe during this time the receiver software will still accept the activation codes from the satellite and the viewing will resume.
If after this time the error “0” still remains, then, unfortunately, nothing more can be done with this receiver!
There is only one way out - go to the office of the nearest dealer to test the equipment in order to make a final “verdict” and exchange it for a new, modern receiver of the latest generation. Find out how to exchange
What could be the consequences of an error?
The actions described above mainly help restore the correct operation of the equipment, however, sometimes only partially. Lack of sound or image, picture slowdown, malfunction of devices connected to the receiver - all these are possible consequences of a zero error. You can eliminate these negative consequences without contacting support. The Tricolor provider offers several ways to solve the problem.
Rebooting the receiver
This has already been discussed earlier; rebooting the receiver will help get rid of not only the error, but also its possible consequences. Simply unplug the receiver for a few minutes and then turn it on again.
Reset
If the reboot did not give the desired result and the failures have not disappeared, then it is worth trying to return the default settings of the receiver. Instructions for rolling back parameters to the basic values have already been given earlier. If the device continues to generate errors after reconfiguring, request activation keys.
Software Update
On some receivers, access to channels is lost due to the fact that the software version is outdated. If the crash appears on a regular basis, be sure to update the firmware. Go to channel 333 and follow the instructions provided.
If none of the proposed methods to solve the problem did not help, then simply contact customer support. Experienced Tricolor specialists will help you set up the operation of the equipment, thereby restoring correct television broadcasting.
All reasons and methods of correction are summarized in one table
For your convenience, we have collected all possible causes of error “0” and ways to eliminate it in one table.
CAUSE | WHAT TO DO |
System failure | Disconnect from power supply, turn on after 3 minutes |
The receiver has expired subscription | Pay for annual maintenance |
Payment was made incorrectly | Redistribute money in your personal account Pay extra if it’s not enough. |
The receiver does not read the smart card | Remove the card and insert it correctly Reset the receiver to factory settings. |
Was turned off for a long time, lost activation keys | Request a repeat of activation commands or simply wait on the first channel |
Bad signal from the dish | Check all cable connections Clean the plate Call a technician for setup |
Adverse weather conditions: rain, thunderstorm, snowfall | Wait for the weather to improve |
Old firmware | Update software version Instructions |
Outdated receiver model | Leave the receiver turned on on the first channel for 72 hours Change the receiver to a new one Find out the conditions |
What to do if everything is paid?
Often, error 0 indicates that there is no payment for the service. This could happen due to an error in the details (check the account ID on the receipt with yours) or because the dealer is slow.
When replenishing through partners, and not through the official portal pay.tricolor.tv, money can take hours, days and even weeks to be credited!
There is only one solution - check whether the payment has been credited to your account in your personal account.
If the funds are credited, then the error appeared due to other reasons.

What to do if error 0 on gs 8300n, gs 8302, gs 8304, gs 8306 receivers
When Tricolor displays error 0 on gs 8304, gs 8302, gs 8306 or other receivers, you need to check:
- does the set-top box support displaying channels in HD (a list of similar channels included in the “Unified” package is available on the website);
- make sure that this format is supported by the TV;
- check to see if an update is required.
To check for updates, just go to the receiver menu and find the section describing the current software version. Then visit the provider’s website and look at the pages indicating the current version of the program. If necessary, users should flash their equipment. To do this, you need to install the required update yourself or start this process automatically, having previously visited the information channel.
Other failures and how to fix them
In addition to error 0, Tricolor TV can produce other error options. Each of them has its own methods of solving the problem.
Error 3
Indicates that there is a scrambled channel that must be decoded for viewing. The receiver was turned off and the activation keys were lost, which must be sent to the receiver again. You can do this in your personal account. It is important to leave the receiver on one of the encoded channels until the picture appears.
If this solution to the problem does not help, you can simply reset the receiver settings to factory settings. This is a universal way to solve such problems.
Error 4
Such a failure means that the receiver is not able to launch this channel . It is not included in the service package of this subscriber. The algorithm of actions is simple:
- Turn the receiver on and off.
- Go to a channel that is exactly included in the service package of this subscriber.
The user may make the wrong channel due to his own carelessness or a software error.
Error 6
The most common reason for this problem is the subscriber’s lack of registration or the operator’s lack of data . To initially avoid the occurrence of error 6, you must purchase all equipment from official dealers.
- In order to register the equipment, you need to go to the Tricolor TV website and enter the indication number. It is 12-14 digits long and can be found using the remote control.
- Then, on the next page, be sure to indicate contact and personal information.
Error 10
This problem often occurs for two reasons:
- payment for the package has not been made;
- software problems.
To solve the problem, just go to your personal account and check your subscriptions. If payment is made, but the error still appears, you need to reset the receiver to factory settings or contact the provider’s technical support.
Error 11
With such an inscription, you should know that there is no equipment failure. Technically it is completely intact. If an error appears, the problem is either in the payment or in the software. Everything must be done as with error 10.
Error 13
Such an inscription on Tricolor TV indicates that the activation keys do not correspond to the codes. Solving this issue is not difficult:
- Visit your personal account on the Tricolor TV website.
- Find a page that is dedicated to activation keys.
- Submit a request to receive keys.
- Wait approximately 8 hours.
Such a request can be sent no more than once every 5 days. Therefore, if it doesn’t help the first time, you need to look for a solution by updating your personal data on the provider’s website.
Why doesn't the receiver show?
There can be many reasons for this problem - here are the most common possible ones:
- Reboot the receiver . During operation, the receiver may be subject to too much load. This happens due to the long period of use of the equipment, power outages and other problems.
- Late payment. Perhaps the user did not pay for the subscription on time, and now there is no access to the service package. If the payment occurred recently, the money may not have been credited to the provider's account. As soon as the package is paid for, the broadcast will be restored.
- The receiver was turned off for a long time (more than three days). As a result, when turned on, the receiver cannot recognize the satellite signal because the decoding key is lost.
- Errors in installing a smart card . This prevents the equipment from reading the smart card correctly and prevents it from receiving the signal.
- Antenna problems . They can occur due to weather conditions, as well as due to outside influence on the antenna.
- Receiver software update . If the receiver is an old model and the software has been updated, it is quite possible that it does not support this software.
Each of these reasons may result in the termination of access to viewing and the display of error O.
What does it mean if it doesn’t work and says 0 on the screen?
An error with the words “No access to view” and the number 0 on Tricolor TV means that for some reason the user does not have access to the channels. The signal is broken and the receiver cannot display the picture on the TV screen.
The reason most often needs to be looked for in the receiver itself. Sometimes the TV suggests waiting for 8 hours. This should not be done, because then the user will see the same inscription again.
No access to view: what to do?
Often, subscribers see a “coded channel” on the screen instead of the “error 0” notification. Both messages indicate the same problem - the channel signal is not received due to network problems. To fix the problem, you can use one of the following methods:
- Check package validity. To perform the check, you will need to view the information in the receiver’s menu, in your personal account, or on the provider’s official resource.
- If your paid subscription period has ended, you need to find free channels at the end of the list of available channels.
- Check that the access card is installed correctly in the equipment. You need to click the ID key on the remote control, the subscriber’s card number will be shown on the screen. If it is not shown, this indicates that the card was inserted incorrectly.
- Often, instead of a card, a special module is installed in the receiver, then you will need to check that it is installed correctly.
- Reset your hardware settings to their original settings. Enter the settings menu, enter the access code 0000. Then click the “factory settings” menu, sub-item “delete”. After this, a list of channels will open, mark the channels that have stopped broadcasting. Then reboot the receiver and perform an automatic channel search.
- If you have not turned on the Tricolor TV receiver for a long time, error 0 is displayed naturally. To fix the problem, you need to turn on the equipment and leave it in this state for 8 hours, after which the error will automatically disappear. In practice, the error disappears after one and a half to two hours.
