The list of manufacturers of the most popular modern TVs is not that wide. In the domestic retail industry, we can safely identify three undisputed leaders, which rightfully includes the South Korean brand Samsung.
Samsung TVs, both inexpensive and premium, are very widely represented in almost all large electronics stores, which, on the one hand, is easily explained by the presence of a branded plant in the Kaluga region, on the other hand, the popularity of the brand is a global phenomenon, as they say, worldwide scale.
The assortment is huge. The model range includes a wide variety of TVs, from the simplest and most affordable to high-tech and high-status, which not everyone can afford. However, in places of mass sales, specialists from credit institutions are usually not asleep.
Where to stop? How much will a suitable device cost, is it worth paying more? Where is this “golden mean”? You can decide on the answers to these and other questions after reading our current rating of the best TVs from Samsung in early 2021.
Samsung's Big Innovation: The Wall MicroLED
Samsung's largest TV, and perhaps the biggest recent innovation in display technology, is The Wall, a giant LED TV that stretches across an entire wall. MicroLED technology promises to be a true rival to OLED in terms of picture quality and perfect black levels, but with the bonus of much higher brightness, purer color and incredible HDR performance. Everyone has been impressed by The Wall since they first laid eyes on it in 2021, but even when it was available for purchase last year, it couldn't just be bought in a store.
That could change for 2021, with Samsung introducing several new versions of The Wall ranging from a massive 292-inch 8K model to a fairly reasonable 75-inch microLED set that can fit in most living rooms. And unlike the 2021 models, which were only available directly from Samsung and cost a lot, the new models could be available at retail as early as this year.
Samsung hasn't announced any details about pricing or availability, only saying that new models are on the way, with plans for 75-, 88-, 93- and 110-inch 4K MicroLED TVs this year.
How to check if a Samsung TV receiver supports DTV signal reception?
Let's look at how you can check whether your Samsung TV receiver, for example, made in 2013, supports DTV.
To receive a digital signal, your Samsung TV must have a built-in or external DVB-T2 tuner. If the tuner is built-in, you can watch digital channels after installing the cable and configuring the channels. Televisions produced in 2010 support digital broadcasting, but not all of them have a DVB-T2 tuner ; most often they simply have DVB-T installed. Old TVs before 1998 do not have a tuner; to watch digital television you will have to buy a special set-top box.
If a TV brand was released after 2004, the likelihood of digital support increases. Next, we’ll find out how to check for the presence of the required tuner on a Samsung TV.
Samsung's new premium TVs: 8K QLED
When it comes to 8K QLED sets, Samsung's announced lineup is the industry's largest to date. Samsung will offer the Q800T, Q900TS and Q950TS series, which divide the 8K QLED lineup into mainstream, mid-range and premium respectively. While it's a little strange to think that 8K TVs are "mainstream" at the moment, the company is clearly positioning the 8K QLED series as new premium flagship models for the brand and offering TVs in different sizes and prices that are much more affordable. than 8K models from any other manufacturer.
Samsung Q950TS 8K QLED TVs
The Q950TS QLED 8K TV serves as the new premium flagship model for Samsung's 8K lineup. With a slim body, bezel-less design and impressive multi-speaker sound, the Q950 finally brings all other aspects of a TV together with stunning picture quality.
The Samsung Q950TS 8K QLED will be offered in 65-, 75- and 85-inch sizes this year, and boasts several new technologies that make it the best Samsung TV we've ever seen. The Q950TS features Samsung's Infinity Screen surrounding a frameless QLED panel with virtually no frame.
The Q950TS includes Samsung's new Object Tracking Sound+ and has multiple internal speakers positioned above, below and on either side of the screen to create a 5.1-channel soundscape that actually tracks objects and actors on the screen.
These speakers can also be used in conjunction with a soundbar using what Samsung calls Q Symphony.
- 65Q950TS 65″ $6500
- 75Q950TS 75″ $8000
- 85Q950TS 85″ $12000
Samsung Q900TS 8K QLED TVs
The mid-range segment in Samsung's premium QLED sets is occupied by the Q900TS, which has all the features seen on the less expensive Q800T but adds Samsung's impressive edge-to-edge near-infinity screen, more local dimming zones, and better HDR support.
Starting at $5,499 for the 65-inch model, the Q900TS is noticeably more expensive than the premium 4K set you can buy for the same money, but it's still relatively affordable among 8K models.
- QE65Q900TS 65″ $5500
- QE75Q900TS 75″ $7500
Samsung Q800T 8K QLED TVs
The Q800T QLED 8K TV is the more affordable of the announced series. With sizes ranging from 65 to 82 inches, it offers a wide range of screen sizes and prices, making it the most affordable 8K TV to come out since Samsung released 8K models two years ago.
For example, last year's 65-inch Q900R had a price of $4,999 at launch. By comparison, this year's 65-inch Q800T costs $3,199—more expensive than a regular 4K set, but significantly cheaper than 8K in the past.
And almost every feature offered in Samsung's 8K sets is available on the Q800T.
- QE65Q800T 65″ $3200
- QE75Q800T 75″ $4500
- QE82Q800T 82″ $6000
UHD Series 2021
Ultra HD is a new format that has been known to users not so long ago. In a short time interval I was able to change positions from premium to middling. This is a 4K TV, for most this characteristic is not surprising, especially those who are interested in new products in the field of television technology.
As the list of TV models with 4K is growing, this series with its image has moved into the middle cost segment. It can be said that these models gave way to new technologies and more unconventional ideas.
Approximate prices for models depending on inches:
40″, 43″ | from 700 to 860 dollars |
55″ | from 1.2 thousand to 1.5 thousand. dollars |
65″ | from 2 thousand to 2.8 thousand dollars. |
75″ | up to 4.8 thousand dollars. |
If you look at the prices presented on TV earlier, you can safely say that these models are the most affordable. Who needs a high-quality TV, without additional functions, at an affordable price, pay attention to the models described below.
Samsung NU7100
The model range is presented in such inches as: 50.55, 65 and 75.

Terrace LS7T7 outdoor 4K QLED TV
Samsung has made a surprising addition to its Lifestyle TV lineup with the addition of the Samsung Terrace TV for outdoor use. A 4K QLED Smart TV that features a weather-sealed design and innovative connectivity options, making it easy to use outside the home, whether in the backyard or by the pool.
The display gets a huge brightness boost to make daylight viewing clearer, boosting the backlight to 2,000 nits and giving Adaptive Brightness technology a real workout for seamless TV viewing in daylight or dark.

- QE65LST7T 65″ $5000
- QE75LST7T 75″ $6500
How can you find out if your TV has a built-in tuner?
First you need to look at the documentation of the TV and look at the characteristics there. In the section related to broadcasting, you need to find support for standards such as:
- DVB-T is terrestrial terrestrial television broadcasting; most models support it as a standard.
- DVB-T2 is a new digital TV multiplex.
- DVB-S and DVB-S2 - for a satellite dish.
- DVB-C and DVB-C2 - for cable television.
Important ! Russia operates on the DVB-T2 frequency; to watch free 20 channels, your TV must support this standard.
If the documentation is lost, you can use the official website:
- Go to the official website of Samsung TVs and enter the name of your TV there. Usually, the full name is on the back of the TV.
- Find the "Technical Specifications" section, and in them - "Broadcast Systems".
- Here look for support for the DVB-T2 standard for digital television.
You can also check the presence of a decoder by automatically tuning channels. Digital broadcasting has 20 of them, the quality is significantly better and the names of the previous and next channels are indicated.
Sero TV makes a mobile turn on Samsung Lifestyle TVs
Another big TV series from Samsung introduces a mobile version of the manufacturer's design-oriented TV lineup with the Lifestyle series. Joining the existing Frame and Serif TV lines, the Sero is aimed at mobile device users, the sort of Gen Z consumer glued to a smartphone who wants a TV that can handle video not optimized for the traditional widescreen landscape format.
Sero TV
Sero (Korean for "Vertical") 43-inch QLED TV features motorized rotation to switch from landscape to portrait mode to better accommodate vertical videos seen on Instagram, TikTok and other social media. Featuring a built-in NFC chip for one-touch pairing with smartphones, Sero not only makes it easy to view content from your phone on your TV screen, but also mimics the orientation of the phone it's connected to. Flip it vertically and the TV will switch to portrait mode. Return to landscape mode and the TV will automatically return to its traditional landscape position.
The TV is already attached to an easel-shaped floor stand, which has a motorized rotation built into it. A 4.1-channel 60-watt speaker system is also built into the stand.
It looks like the Sero is currently being sold through Samsung's own website, with one 43-inch model costing $1,500.

Lifestyle TVs get new sizes and features
Samsung's other Lifestyle models are also returning, with The Frame and Serif returning in new sizes, with more features.
Frame is Samsung's creativity-inspired TV that offers a flat design. It can be hung on the wall and personalized with interchangeable snap frames that make the slim TV look like wall-hung art. Thanks to Samsung's Ambient Mode, which allows you to display a huge selection of artwork on the screen when it's not being used as a TV, it's as if a painting comes to life, doing double duty as a TV and home decor.
Samsung The Frame
- QE32LS03T 32″ 1080p with portrait and landscape modes $600
- QE43LS03T 43″ 4K UHD $1000
- QE50LS03T 50″ 4K UHD $1300
- QE55LS03T 55″ 4K UHD $1500
- QE65LS03T 65″ 4K UHD $2000
- QE75LS03T 75″ 4K UHD $3000
All these models are equipped with QLED LCD displays and provide full-fledged smart TV. However, the 32-inch model only comes with 1080p Full HD resolution. And because its smaller size lends itself to installations that look even more like wall graphics, the 32-inch model supports both landscape and portrait orientations, allowing you to tilt the TV sideways to better display portrait and other vertically oriented information.
Unique to The Frame is Art Mode 3.0, which allows you to select your favorite works of art from thousands of collections from galleries around the world. These high-resolution images are optimized for the unique style of TV presentations, and the new version 3.0 includes an AI-driven auto selection mode that scans through your favorites and cycles through other art you'll enjoy.
Some of these 2021 models also include what Samsung calls Dual LED backlighting, which uses a combination of LEDs with different color temperatures to illuminate the screen. This allows the TV to adjust the backlight color temperature and adjust the backlight to optimize contrast for any image on screen.
Samsung hopes the wide, flat surfaces above and below the QLED display will have a unique look that will appeal to design-conscious buyers who may not be interested in a traditional TV in their home. The Serif began selling in 2019 with one 55-inch model, but it returns in 2021 in 43-, 49-, and 55-inch sizes.
The Serif starts at $999 for the 43-inch model and the larger 55-inch model for $1,499. Samsung has announced a 49-inch model for 2021, but there's no word yet on availability or pricing.
FHD Series 2021
The new TV series in the budget segment of Samsung is represented by a wide range of equipment supporting Full HD resolution.
The younger line of M5 and M4 is known for its affordable price. There is a Smart TV and a tuner. For the European television market, models with flat and curved screens are presented.
Not final prices for models depending on inches:
32″ | from 345 to 485 dollars |
40 and 43″ | from 485 thousand to 640 dollars. |
50″ | up to 1.2 thousand dollars. |
TVs in this series are produced with an LCD display, as well as Edge LED backlighting.
Samsung 4K QLED
Finally, the Samsung TVs most likely to be seen in your local store and purchased for your living room are their line of premium 4K QLED smart TVs. Samsung has updated its full 4K QLED lineup for 2021, boasting a variety of sizes, price points, and features.
These new models, designated with a T at the end of the model name, largely follow the template of previous years' QLED sets from the most basic Q60T to the most premium Q90T.
Surprisingly, Q-Symphony sound technology will also appear in many models of the 4K QLED series. The feature was originally announced to be limited to 8K models. Q-Symphony allows you to use your Samsung soundbar with your TV without having to disable the TV's multiple speakers. Using these TV speakers in combination with a soundbar provides a richer sound experience, delivering greater volume, a wide and tall soundstage, and even simulating the depth of surround sound.
Samsung is also beefing up its voice assistant feature by allowing you to connect your Samsung TV to Amazon Alexa or Google Home, providing an alternative to Samsung's Bixby.
The four series of models called QLED 4K are the Q60T, Q70T, Q80T and Q90T, and they differ largely in the included features.
- Q90T - QLED display, Ultra Wide Viewing Angle, Full array backlight, Local dimming, Object Tracking Sound, OneConnect Box
- Q80T – QLED display, Full array backlight, Local dimming
- Q70T – QLED display, Dual LED backlight, Edge edge lighting
- Q60T – QLED display, Dual LED backlight, Edge edge lighting
The most notable change above is that Samsung's ultra-wide viewing angle technology will only be offered on the Q90T this year, while in 2021 the technology was featured on both the Q90 and Q80 series.
Another thing that is not reflected in the information above is that the 2021 models will have a reduced number of backlight zones, they handle local dimming. While details haven't been confirmed, it looks like the new Q90T will have around 100 individual local dimming zones, and that's down from last year's Q90R, which was closer to 500 zones.
The change in the Edge's use of edge lighting on the Q70 is another signal that the 4K QLED line is no longer Samsung's top product. This essentially makes the Q70T a replacement for last year's Q60R, and Samsung has already commented that the new Q60T will be Samsung's mainstream product this year, replacing some non-QLED offerings sold in past years. With many Samsung 8K QLED series in the spotlight, this is expected.
That said, Samsung's 4K QLED lineup is still a pretty solid collection of smart TVs, with plenty of premium features and all the smart TV options you'd expect.
4K QLED Q95T
- QE55Q95T 55″ $2300
- QE65Q95T 65″ $3200
- QE75Q95T 75″ $4700
- QE85Q95T 85″
4K QLED Q90T
- QE55Q90T 55″ $1800
- QE65Q90T 65″ $2700
- QE75Q90T 75″ $3800
- QE85Q90T 85″ $5300
The best 4K series is the Q9*T QLED, which takes full advantage of the quantum dot LCD panel, local dimming array backlight, and Samsung's ultra-wide viewing technology. It's all powered by Samsung's Quantum 4K processor, which handles every last detail, from HDR10+ support to optimized color and motion processing.
Other features include Object Tracking Sound and the OneConnect Box, which combines all of a device's connections and ports into a separate box connected to the TV with a single thin, nearly transparent cable that carries power and signal to any connected devices.
4K QLED Q80T
- QE49Q80T 49″ $1100
- QE55Q80T 55″ $1300
- QE65Q80T 65″ $1800
- QE75Q80T 75″ $2800
- QE85Q80T 85″ $4000
Technically, the 4K Q80T is identical to the Q90T, despite being lower in the range than the Q90T (minus the stylish OneConnect Box), and is also available in more sizes and prices.
The Quantum 4K processor upscales lower-resolution content, and an array of built-in sensors allows the TV to adjust lighting and TV sound to suit room conditions. This will boost the brightness to take into account ambient light and provide vibrant color whether you're dimming the lights for movie night or catching the news in the middle of the day. The sound also adjusts on the fly, ensuring clear communication even in a noisy room.
Object tracking audio delivers higher-quality audio tailored to match the content on screen, using up-firing and down-firing speakers to create a more immersive soundscape and more immersive sound.
4K QLED Q70T
- QE49Q70T 49″ $1000
- QE55Q70T 55″ $1100
- QE65Q70T 65″ $1800
- QE75Q70T 75″ $2400
- QE85Q70T 85″ $3500
The next step down in the series also represents the biggest drop in quality. The Samsung Q70T is still part of the 4K QLED lineup, so it will still have the excellent color that Samsung QLED TVs are known for. But it lacks the discrete FALD dimming zones offered on the Q80T and Q90T. Instead, the Q70R series features Edge lighting, which is known to offer lower brightness and HDR support.
Samsung is hoping to make that Edge backlight a little better with new Dual LED technology that adjusts the backlight's color tone to better match screen content. This is done using blue and yellow LEDs instead of the blue and white LEDs traditionally used to provide LED backlighting. Whether this provides better backlight performance or improves the viewing experience for viewers remains to be seen.
4K QLED Q60T
- QE43Q60T 43″ $530
- QE55Q60T 55″ $700
- QE58Q60T 58″ $900
- QE65Q60T 65″ $950
- QE75Q60T 75″ $1700
- QE85Q60T 85″ $2700
Rounding out the QLED lineup is the Q60T series, the most affordable models with Samsung quantum dot displays. Series with screen sizes from 43 to 85 inches. The Q60T offers prices as low as $530 for a QLED TV, making it one of the most affordable series on the market to offer this color enhancement technology.
This year, Samsung is positioning the Q60T not as a budget member of the premium QLED family, but as a core model for mass-market buyers, replacing last year's non-QLED RU8000 line. So you can expect the Q60T to be heavily featured on retail shelves, and expect big discounts for events like Black Friday in November.
Additionally: details on the Q60T model.

Samsung Premium UHD LED TVs
While QLED TVs get most of the attention, some of Samsung's most popular models are still standard LCD TVs. With affordable prices, 4K resolution, and a pretty good version of the Tizen smart TV platform, these inexpensive models will be very popular throughout the year. And this year, Samsung is updating this part of the lineup with two new series, TU7000 and TU8000 Crystal UHD 4K Smart TV.
Available in a wide range of sizes and prices, both TU series will be powered by the Crystal Processor 4K, which should provide decent video processing and upscaling. Interestingly, while the TU series offers HDR10 and HLG support for standard HDR (high dynamic range) content, they do not support Samsung's own HDR10+ format.

TU8000 Crystal UHD 4K Smart TV
- UE43TU8000 43″ $500
- UE50TU8000 50″ $570
- UE55TU8000 55″ $650
- UE65TU8000 65″ $960
- UE75TU8000 75″ $1500
- UE82TU8000 82″ $2750
The more expensive of the two series is the TU8000 (TU85), also known as the Crystal UHD 8 series, which runs from a base 43-inch model up to an 82-inch model that retails for $2,750. Even though the series lacks the technical parameters from the Quantum Dot series and some of the fancier smart features from the QLED series, the TU8000 still has some interesting tricks.
One such trick is automatic game mode, which senses when the game console is plugged in and turned on, and then switches to game mode without you having to pick up the remote. Better known as Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), this feature is usually offered on HDMI 2.1 kits, but the TU8000 offers the same capability thanks to its HDMI 2.0 ports.
It also combines the TV's 20-watt stereo speakers with a built-in subwoofer for better sound and Bluetooth for connecting wireless headphones and speakers.
And while many wouldn't expect to see a voice assistant built into such affordable TVs, the TU8000 offers not only Samsung's Bixby, but even Amazon Alexa built-in.
TU7000 Crystal UHD 4K Smart TV
- UE43TU7000 43″ $460
- UE50TU7000 50″ $500
- UE55TU7000 55″ $580
- UE58TU7000 58″
- UE65TU7000 65″ $800
- UE70TU7000 70″
- UE75TU7000 75″ $1350
The TU7000 (known as the Crystal UHD 7 Series) should be very popular this year, if only because of the low prices Samsung is offering.
The sound quality may not be as rich as you want since it doesn't have a woofer, just standard 20-watt stereo speakers, but there's always the option of adding a soundbar for more sound.
The TU700 does not have a built-in voice assistant.
What to look for when choosing a Samsung TV?
A wide range of TVs with many different parameters raises a logical question - which one to choose? To find the right solution, you need to learn more about the technology, features, resolution and image quality. Many modern TVs come with smart TVs, which means it’s also worth finding out the capabilities of this option.
What are QLED TVs? Samsung QLED TVs are based on quantum dot technology – a collection of nano-sized elements. This technology allows you to achieve high screen brightness. The brighter the luminous point, the more contrast, richer and more realistic the image. QLEDs are protected from pixel burn-in - their service life is longer compared to other types of TVs.
What are Cristal UHD TVs? Cristal UHD is not only a display with unique color quality - the image is bright and rich. This is the original Crystal 4k processor, which allows you to achieve high detail and image clarity. The devices are designed for a wide range of buyers, they are relatively inexpensive and combine the best technologies of previous generations of Samsung TVs.
HDR technology. High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology is a picture realization technique that adapts the image to the features of the human eye. A wider range of tones is now available. The TV displays the dark and light elements of the frame as fully as possible. Natural lighting effects and high dynamics of brightness changes allow you to achieve unique image realism.

Screen resolution
A powerful technical base allows Samsung to produce products that use the most current technological advances. The use of advanced processors and screens makes it possible to create UHD TVs with maximum image clarity, as well as reduce the cost of manufacturing devices using earlier technologies.
8K. Ultra-high image clarity is achieved in the 8k UHD standard. More than 33 million active elements form a picture with a resolution of 7680x4320 pixels. Incredible detail allows you to get the clearest and most realistic video possible. Obstacles to using the 8k standard are the high cost of equipment, as well as the limited amount of content produced in this resolution.
4K. The most popular ultra-high definition television standard. 8 million pixels allow you to get a 3840x2160 image. Excellent detail and realism of the image allow you to achieve a high degree of immersion in what is happening on the screen. Together with UHD, upscaling technologies are widely used, which, thanks to the work of artificial intelligence and a powerful processor, make it possible to turn low-resolution video into 4k or even 8k.
Full HD. Full HD technology guarantees a good image with a sufficient degree of clarity, far superior to HD (720p). And even despite the emergence of more advanced technologies - 8k and 4k, the resolution of 1920x1080 remains in demand in the budget segment. You can become the owner of Full HD video equipment and enjoy a good quality picture without excessive financial costs.
