How to remove an unnecessary channel on Samsung and LG TVs

Brightness and Contrast

Brightness affects the black level in the image, and to adjust it it is better to use a special “Pluge pattern” image. This image is a series of stripes of different tones - from black to white. Open it on your TV in an accessible way (as a rule, modern LCD TVs have flesh connectors, so the image can be opened from a flash drive). Then you need to set the “brightness” parameter to the maximum position so that all the stripes are clearly visible, and then reduce it so that the leftmost strip merges with the black background.

It is better to adjust contrast in the dark, as it determines the white level. You need to set the value to almost the maximum level (usually this value is 95), then display the image with the white level window on the screen and increase the “backlight brightness” indicator to the maximum value. After this, reduce the “backlight brightness” until the white color stops hurting your eyes.

If you need to change the order

You can change the order only if the TV has arranged the channels itself. If your TV received the channel order from the TV company, you won't be able to move channels.

main sources

  1. Analog. Setting up free channels is not that difficult. The user can independently turn on the search, find everything and change the order, without inviting a specialist.
  2. Digital. Digital TV, otherwise called DTV (DTV from English Digital Television) quickly entered our lives, it pleases with numerous advantages. However, with all the undoubted advantages of this type of signal transmission, some users have problems when independently selecting TV programs, for example, on one of the most popular TVs - Samsung.
  3. Satellite. This is an exclusively paid service, if you do not take into account card sharing (breaking encrypted TV programs) and other gray schemes.
  4. IPTV. It works exclusively via the Internet, and only on TVs with smart TV or special equipment, for example, TV BOX on Android. Keep in mind that sometimes programs disappear from the playlist list, which means it needs to be updated, but more about this in the corresponding section.

How to restore deleted TV channels

To return deleted programs, the owner of a Samsung TV will need to run the “Auto-Tuning” playlist:

  1. Open system settings and select “TB” as the signal source
  2. Return to the initial menu page and go to the “Broadcast” section.
  3. Select “Auto Configuration” and press the “Start” softkey.
  4. Select “Antenna” (for tuning analogue television) or “Cable” (for digital channels).
  5. Launch “Scan” and wait for the automatic setup to complete.

Restoring deleted programs on TVs from other manufacturers is performed using a similar algorithm.

Conclusion

If the user still has any questions, it is recommended to look for additional information on the manufacturer’s official website or in the complete operating manual for the TV device.

Remove or hide Rakuten / TV Plus - how?

I have a new UE43NU7020 and I'm disappointed that when I turn it on I get a loud, blaring stream of ads from a pay TV company called Rakuten under the guise of an app called TV plus.

This is unacceptable on many levels.

  • Clearly an intrusion into my TV defaulting to streaming (via my internet connection, not the Samsung), an attempt to lure me into buying something I don't want
  • It's a fact that my TV crashes about 50% of the time when this commercial comes on.
  • The material shown is not suitable for children because
  • This TV's interface freezes and crashes when I turn it on because of this annoying and unwanted app when all I want to do is run Plex, Twitch or sometimes Youtube, but most of the time whatever I have plugged into the USB port. I can't do this half the time due to the fact that the TV Plus app streams Asian Bollywood movies at an unacceptably high volume and is annoying, distracting and often shows content I don't want my kids to see.
  • I literally cannot turn on this TV while the kids are in the room. It's pathetic, I can't even turn on my own TV when I want because of this app

I unchecked these red channels from the channel list, but what do you know, they come back immediately after restarting

I blocked the Rakuten servers on my DNS server by pointing them to 0.0.0.0, but what do you know? Rakuten constantly changes the domains they use for this trouble.

I thought I'd just remove the default gateway in the network settings and stop the whole TV from going online and sacrificing the "smart" aspect of it, but no, it only supports DHCP, you can't even set the IP address manually.

I tried uninstalling the app but it reverted to the default input so it always plays when the TV is on.

I have been a regular customer, never looked at other manufacturers for over ten years but this is too much, you have completely broken faith and abused your customer relationship with this overt and aggressive marketing.

I did not consent to this app running on my hardware, nor did I allow it to use my Internet connection to stream advertisements to me.

I called the call center to find out how to get rid of this, and they told me that there was no way to live with it.

Samsung: This is unacceptable, and if you really thought this would be a good idea (Rakuten will never pay you enough to cover the losses you'll suffer from people just finding out about this and choosing a clean TV over an ethical manufacturer), then you could at least test it to make sure it won't disrupt the TV's normal operation.

I spent £400 on this piece of junk which is otherwise an average but acceptable TV but you have rendered it useless with this app.

I welcome a solution to this problem, but if there isn't one, it will be on ebay and I'll just buy the LG. My next living room TV is nearing the end of its life, it will also be LG, and the hundreds of TVs I will specify and buy at work for use in large network operations centers will also be LG or another ethical supplier and I will never use a Samsung product again. It's the same with my phones and my family's phones: if I can't trust the TV, how can I trust you with the phone?

As you can already see, I'm very annoyed by this unnecessary intrusion into my life, and instead of sitting here and watching Game of Thrones, I'm typing this while there was a frozen screen of Bollywood commercials and a frozen menu. me.

Where do duplicate digital TV channels come from?

So, first, let's figure out where these duplicates come from. And I’ll show you right away with an example to make it clearer. We watch digital TV and find ourselves there.

Let's say you live in Rognedino. We select the first multiplex, we see that there are several towers next to us. The first is located in Snopot and transmits a signal on the frequency of channel 30, 546 MHz

.

The second, in Roslovl, transmits on the frequency of channel 51, 714 MHz

. And yes, its signal reaches Rognedino, especially if you have.

There are also towers in Dubrovka and Zhukovka, but they also transmit on channel 30, so we don’t take them into account. What do we get as a result?

When we start the auto search, the set-top box will first find 10 channels of the first multiplex at a frequency of 546 MHz, and then the same 10 channels, but at a frequency of 714 MHz!

And after the work is completed, you will have twenty channels - two for each real channel. If you live at the junction of three regions, you can catch not even doubles, but tribbles.

What to do? There are two options, both are generally simple, but I still recommend the second one

.

Why is the first multiplex usually duplicated?

By the way, the most attentive reader now understands why the first multiplex is usually “duplicated”. Because the second one has not yet been launched everywhere, and if it’s running at all, that’s already cool. But the first one broadcasts from every iron from every tower.

There are several ways to get rid of advertising on the Tricolor info channel and turn on your favorite channel when starting up the equipment. You just need to carry out simple manipulations with the remote control.

Users often encounter the problem of unnecessary TV channels appearing. These could be the following channels:

  • Duplicated as a result of software updates;
  • Changing the channel's broadcast frequency, which led to the absence of broadcasting;
  • Family members are not interested in watching programs;
  • Channels reproduced in poor quality due to equipment changes.

To enjoy watching your favorite channels and not encounter advertising information channels, you need to delete or encode them.

Adjusting Clarity

You can complete the adjustment by checking the value of the clarity parameter, which is necessary to obtain the same high-quality image from different distances. To do this, you can use a special image “Sharpness pattern”. This is a black and white picture, which is intended for testing and adjusting clarity. This image is freely available on the Internet, so just download it from the Internet and open it on your TV. Then you need to sit at the usual distance when watching TV and, opening this image, set the clarity to maximum. Then reduce this parameter until the image is normalized (light highlights disappear).
