- Simplicity. Despite the rich settings, you can only add an m3u playlist and start watching.
- Eats everything, literally. You can feed any playlist to this player, including channel lists for Torrent TV.
- Playlist manager. There is no need to choose which playlist is better, put everything on and switch instantly. By the way, they are automatically updated, which is not unimportant.
- You can broadcast your own. There will be a separate post about this.
- Sat>IP. Possibility of viewing DVB-C (Cable TV) and DVB-T (Terrestrial TV).
- Built-in scheduler. If you are afraid of missing an interesting movie, simply add a task and your player will automatically switch the broadcast at the specified time.
- There are also a lot of small additions that will make watching TV comfortable.
I didn’t notice any shortcomings, except for the fact that you can’t switch channels using numbers on the remote control. If you notice them, please write in the comments.
Advantages of Pier TV
- TV guide (TV program). After installing the application and downloading your playlist, each channel will have a program schedule for the whole week. I think there is no need to describe why this is cool and very convenient. The main thing is that it is there, it works and everything is automated and no action is required from you.
- Its own built-in player. This applies not only to the convenient and pleasant design, but also to the technical part. Most analogues work with the help of third-party players, and this means the simultaneous use of 2 applications that load the system (especially affects weak devices). Also, this player can adjust the quality automatically, i.e. if the TV is weak or the Internet is bad, IPTV should not slow down .
- Adaptability. Works on any device, even weak and old Smart TV, Android, etc. It’s easy to use, whether it’s a remote control, a mouse, a touchpad, etc. For example, to change a channel, you don’t have to scroll through the entire list, but you can press the channel number on the remote control. So to speak, a complete imitation of the TV we are used to, only with a lot of convenient and necessary functions.
- Favorites. If you watch a small part of the channels, but the playlist is large, you can add your favorite channels to “favorites” and get quick access.

Sunny Light is a review of an application for phones, tablets and set-top boxes based on Android OS for playing audio and video from M3U and XML IPTV playlists from open sources with the ability to display detailed Yandex TV programs or XMLTV EPG, and does not contain built-in playlists. Changing the encoding of an IPTV playlist to UTF-8
To change the encoding to UTF-8. Open an M3U playlist using standard Windows notepad. To do this, right-click on it, and then find the line “Open with”. The “Open with” line will open a submenu in which you select “Notepad”.
After this we see the already familiar IPTV playlist
Then in the top right corner, click file. In the drop-down menu, select the line “Save as...”
Next in the new window, at the bottom, in the “Encoding” section, select UTF-8. Then we change the name of the file, its location, or simply replace an existing one.
All encoding of the IPTV playlist has been changed, the playlist will have the proper appearance.
Setting up and viewing IPTV on ProgTV
After you have downloaded and installed ProgTV to watch TV, all that remains is to add an IPTV playlist and preferably an EPG (program guide + channel icons).
To do this, launch the application and open “Sources”, which are located on the first screen. A menu has opened in front of you in which you can configure the connection in different ways, but we are interested in the “IPTV client”.

Other settings
If you are not an experienced user, the “Interface” and “Control” settings will be enough for you. If it’s the other way around, you won’t even read my advice.
" Interface " let's see what's in the settings tab:
- Interface language – by default it is the same as in your device. If it's not, change it to yours.
- Color scheme – to change that terrible blue background color, choose any other one. I installed black and the 2000s design was gone.
- Animation – disable it if you have a weak device.
- Next, there are many youthful settings that you can switch to your own style.
“ Management ” are very useful settings that will make the TV not only smart, but also convenient:
- Launch the application after downloading – enable it if you want this program to launch immediately after turning on your TV.
- Use remote control – enables operation of the remote control.
- The rest of the functions in this section will help you configure your remote control the way your heart desires.
