Personally, I am not a supporter of universal remote controls, but some may find it useful. One remote control for any appliance in the house. All that remains is to choose the model you like in appearance.
Such remote controls support most of the well-known household appliances (sometimes a list is included, and there are actually tens of thousands of models). Of course, the buttons can also be reassigned for Smart TV functions.
Android TV Remote Control
The Android TV Remote Control app can be used to control any device that is on the same Wi-Fi network as your smartphone. If your Smart TV is connected to the Internet by wire, which is often recommended for smoother video playback, then the connection can be established via Bluetooth.
There are only two control methods available - joystick and touchpad. You can also control using your voice by tapping the microphone icon, but the TV must support voice control to do this. This is where all the advantages end. In general, the functionality is quite limited; for example, you cannot turn the TV on or off. The last update was back in 2017.
How do I enable voice control?
Starting is done by pressing the “VOICE” button. A microphone icon should appear on the screen, indicating that it is ready to work. Voice commands should be spoken at a distance of no more than 15 centimeters from the remote control slowly and clearly. This will allow the device to accurately recognize your order and execute it.
Many Samsung TVs include voice recognition training. To launch it, you need to find the corresponding subsection in the menu, which is located in the “Support” section.
A faster way is to press the VOICE button and say the word “Training” into the microphone.
Moving focus using your voice is done by saying the phrases: “Focus + direction.” Available options: up, down, left, right. To confirm, you must say the “Select” command.
In order to quickly find a television program, a search function is provided. To do this, you need to say: “Find + the name of the television program or channel.”
Volume adjustment is carried out by the commands: “Increase volume by...” and “Decrease volume by...”.
