I had two TVs from DEXP. I bought my first TV in 2016 and it worked for three years. He did not die a natural death, the TV was accidentally broken, otherwise it would have worked for a long time.
What attracts me to DEXP TVs? First of all, this is the cost and lack of SmartTV. TVs from Samsung, LG, Sony are one and a half, or even twice as expensive with the same diagonal.
Why is the lack of SmartTV a plus for me?
Yes, because I don't use it. I don’t watch TV at all, but I display all the content on the TV via a PC using the Kodi program.
One free program replaces my entire SmartTV.
All SmartTV on cheap TVs is cut-down Android, which is dull and slow. If you want a “minimal” SmartTV, then you can order an Android set-top box from Aliexpress, it will be much better if you have a limited budget.
The main disadvantage of DEXP TVs, I think, is the lack of spare parts and a crooked menu. At the same time, the menu differs from model to model. On the old TV it was one thing, but on the new menu it’s completely different. It’s as if in China there are different suppliers for different diagonals.
Regarding spare parts. For example, if you break the matrix on your TV, then you can safely scrap it. I still couldn't find the matrix. Although on the other hand, it would cost as much as a new TV. So these TVs can be safely called disposable.
Conventionally, for myself, I have identified two groups of people, for some DEXP TVs are suitable, but for others they are not.
DEXP is right for you if you:
- you have a limited budget of 20 thousand rubles
- want the maximum diagonal for this money
- you just want to buy a TV, connect it to an antenna or satellite box and have it work
- do not use SmartTV capabilities
- have good external speakers
- you just need to display the image on the screen
- have an external media player or just want to connect your TV to your computer
- want to play games on a large diagonal
- have an Xbox or PS
DEXP is not for you if you:
- have a budget of 20 thousand rubles
- want to watch Youtube from TV
- don't want to bother with external speakers
- don’t want to bother with TV settings, connect it to a computer, order a SmartTV set-top box separately
- Do you think these TVs are China?
It is important to understand that in fact, DEXP TVs are just a large frame for displaying images. For example, for 19 thousand rubles I bought a DEXP F49D7000C TV with a diagonal of 49 inches, which has nothing in it. The TV is completely empty, but this is exactly what I need.
By the way, important news for those who have a Xiaomi smartphone. If you have an IR blaster on your smartphone, you can control your TV directly from your phone. You can find all the information about setup in the article: setting up a Xiaomi smartphone to work with a DEXP TV
Advantages and disadvantages of DEXP TVs
The main secret of DEXP's success lies in the combination of the quality of its equipment with competitive prices. TVs of this brand have both positive and negative sides.
Advantages of DEXP brand TVs:
- support European television standards;
- the ability to record content on external media;
- Internet access;
- stylish thin-frame design;
- high-quality sound;
- affordable price.
There are no critical deficiencies observed in models belonging to the middle and premium class. Only economy class TVs have certain disadvantages and shortcomings.
Disadvantages of budget DEXP models:
- limited functionality;
- in 55-inch monitors, due to dynamic contrast, content with a dark background is difficult to see (if the TV serves as a computer screen);
- Problems when watching videos in Full HD resolution due to weak network flow.
Picture quality
Average. Very much depends on the model! For example, on the DEXP F40C7100 there is no black color (it is dark gray); uneven backlighting is visible on a black background. On the new DEXP F49D7000C TV the picture is much better and the backlight is even. On this TV, blacks are already close to black, and the colors don't need to be adjusted. But show me a competitor for 19,000 rubles with 49″? I didn't find them.
I want to say this: a TV is not suitable as a monitor. In any case, the picture quality will be much worse than the cheapest monitor, especially now cheap IPS monitors cost pennies.
TV as a monitor
If you want a 40-inch monitor and decide to buy a TV for this, then this is a very bad idea. I can’t even imagine how you will sit behind a 40 inch “monitor”. For such a diagonal, the resolution must be at least 4K and still the picture will be worse than on the monitor.

SmartTV is not digital TV
You may know that in Russia they switched to the DVB-T2 (digital television) standard and many people bought external set-top boxes for their old TVs in order to continue watching TV. So, SmartTV is not about that. DEXP TVs have DVB-T2 support out of the box ; for reliable signal reception, you just need to buy a good external antenna.
But you won’t be able to play games, watch Youtube or surf the Internet from TV. To do this, you will have to buy an external media player, which, as I already said, are sold in large quantities on Aliexpress and in our stores.
How to set up digital channels on a DEXP TV?
The easiest and fastest way to tune channels is in automatic mode. If the TV is connected correctly and the signal level is high enough for auto-search, it will immediately find 20 channels from the basic package.
How to perform an auto search:
1. Press “Source” on the remote control and select key settings - country and mode supported by TV (select digital television - DTV). Confirm your selection with the “Ok”/Enter button.
2. Press the “Menu” button and select the “Channels” tab, and then “Auto search”.
3. The search continues for 5-10 minutes. During this time, the system finds and displays channels.
If desired, channels can be configured manually. Usually this method is resorted to if the TV itself could not find all the necessary ones.
Searching for channels manually:
Cable:
- Open settings and go to the “Channels” tab.
- Select Manual Setup.
- Set your options.
- Click "Start".
On-air (digital):
- Open the TV menu with your remote control.
- Select the "Channels" tab and activate "Manual Search".
- Set search parameters and signal source.
- Enter the frequency and channel number (they are unique for each region).
- Click "Start" and wait for the system to find channels.
Satellite:
- After connecting the dish, press “Menu”.
- Select “Channels” in the settings, then “Manual search”. The signal source is “satellite”.
- Enter the data taken from the provider, set the search frequency and range, and then start the search.
Problem with EDID?
In macOS and Ubuntu there are no problems connecting the TV to the computer. But when I connect the TV to Windows 10, I see this:
Yes, yes, instead of a desktop, I see gray “dregs”. But the whole point is that for some reason the default frequency is 29Hz, although it should be 60Hz. If you set the desired frequency in the monitor settings in Windows, the problem disappears.
Peculiarities
When choosing any product, the buyer often looks closely not only at the equipment itself, but also at the manufacturer who produces it.
The company cannot take away such advantages as:
- Affordable price. It is much lower than analogues of comparable characteristics from other manufacturers. And this is explained not by worse quality or service life, but by domestic assembly with low cost.
The lineup
- Rich assortment. The buyer can purchase any devices and spare parts for his TV panel at an affordable price. You won’t have to wait long for your order, as is often the case with imported equipment.
- Modern functionality. DEXP devices are not among the “weak” or budget ones, which are stereotypically used to classify domestic or Chinese-made equipment. Today on the market there are both more outdated models of early release, and modern products that are not inferior in capabilities to analogues of well-known brands.
Now, having understood the advantages of the company, you can consider the pros and cons of the TVs themselves.
DEXP is suitable for games
The last thing I want to say is that DEXP TVs are suitable for gaming. Then I realized one thing for myself: the larger the diagonal, the better. It will not be convenient to play on a keyboard and mouse, so you can buy some kind of gamepad or connect a console. If you don’t have a console, then the XBOX One Controller works great in Windows 10; I use this gamepad to play all modern games that have an Xbox One version.

About DEXP
The DEXP company (Russia) is a domestic brand founded in 1998 in Vladivostok. During these difficult times for the country, a team of experienced engineers began assembling desktop computers and offering system integration services for businesses. In 2009, the company opened its first laptop assembly complex, and a little later, its own production of LCD monitors and tablet PCs.
Now DEXP is on a par with leading European equipment manufacturers and cooperates with large corporations in China and Taiwan.
The main competitive advantages of the Russian company DEXP are lower prices compared to equipment from popular brands, a wide range of models and strict product quality control at every stage of production. Now, if you are asked who is the manufacturer of DEXP TVs, you can proudly answer – Vladivostok (Russia).
Flaws
Despite their advantages, DEXP TVs also have disadvantages that may not suit everyone.
Therefore, for the sake of fairness, it is worth mentioning them:
- Weak multi-streaming. The user will have to deal with a number of delays if multi-stream information exchange over the network is planned (for example, watching IP television or a movie from Youtube while simultaneously downloading content from the Internet to the media).
- There are no buttons on the case. This can have a negative impact if the remote control breaks down. The manufacturer does not offer any of its own utilities for other control options, so you will need to look for an application and set up control from your smartphone.
- The software often crashes. Users often complain about frequent “glitches” in operation due to which they have to reflash it. This does not cause serious problems and you can update the software yourself, but some inconveniences are still created.
- No Smart TV in the cloud. This means that all the “smart” components of such a TV are located in it itself and there are no inexpensive models with weak hardware. But given the fact that they are already more accessible than foreign-made analogues, this minus is not critical.
Conclusion
There are many TVs in the DEXP catalog, we told you about the most interesting models. At the same time, we paid attention to both the budget segment and the most sophisticated devices. As you can see, there is plenty to choose from.
Affordable TVs have high-quality screens, a nice design, and a good set of connectors. Models with support for Smart TV are divided into two subtypes - with Android and with Opera TV. There are ultra-thin models, there are TVs with huge screens, and there are 4K options. At the same time, all are distinguished by high operational reliability , perfect assembly, and have a manufacturer’s warranty.
And the most important thing is affordable prices. With DEXP, you can afford advanced UltraHD and Smart TVs, even if you're on a budget. Or if you spent all your money on a brand new iPhone, but still want a good TV, Welcome!
