How to organize watching Tricolor TV on your TV online?

When purchasing a set of satellite equipment, users strive to find optimal quality at an affordable price. They expect durability, reliability, versatility and image clarity.

All this was received by subscribers who installed the Tricolor TV receiver. This is the leader in organizing satellite television in Russia. The company systematically modernizes equipment and software, which constantly increases the quality of services provided and their quantity.

Advantages of the Online TV service

The satellite operator has begun developing an Online TV option to increase the availability of television broadcasting services. In the future, the company promises that this product will allow you to watch Tricolor TV on your TV via the Internet without purchasing a satellite dish. This feature is currently under development. But even in its current state, Online TV gives users many advantages:

  • free access to additional TV channels via the global network;
  • the ability to watch channels not included in regional packages;
  • access to television broadcasting even in the event of satellite failures;
  • ease of setting up television in a new place.

Important! With the help of Online TV, subscribers can quickly access configured channels in a new apartment, country house, etc. To do this, simply connect the receiver on which the service is installed to the worldwide network.

Features of the service for regions

As you know, the Tricolor TV company has several broadcast zones:

  • Siberia;
  • Center;
  • South.

The new service allows residents of the Siberia zone to watch Tricolor TV channels via the Internet, including those channels from the Unified package that are not available in this district via satellite. Residents of the European part of the Russian Federation, using it, will receive as a bonus access to channels and programs of additional packages not connected to them.

It is now October 2018. GS Group, together with satellite communications operator Tricolor, are constantly updating the range of their receivers. Several years ago, developers introduced a new, hitherto untested technology for connecting an IP device to a satellite receiver and server. Which received information from the server via signal transmission via an Internet cable. Thus, a set for two TVs appeared. In order for the subscriber to be able to view channels on both devices independently of each other, it was necessary to equip the receiver with a second satellite tuner.

Features of connection options

To gain access to watching television via the Internet using the new service, the user must be a subscriber of the Tricolor operator. This means having a signed contract for the company’s services, as well as an active subscription to the main package of TV channels.

Important! If payment for the main package is overdue, the ability to watch Tricolor TV channels over the Internet will become unavailable to the user. Access to viewing will be resumed only after payment has been made.

Hardware requirements

Unfortunately, not all receiver models can support the new service. Set-top boxes older than three years, as a rule, do not have enough power for uninterrupted broadcasting. More modern models also have a number of restrictions on use, although the operator company is actively working to adapt them.

You can find out whether a specific receiver model is suitable for using the new option on the satellite operator’s website. To do this, you need to sequentially go to the following sections:

  • Help;
  • Technical issues;
  • How to watch channels via the Internet.

On the page that appears, you will need to select the “Accessibility” tab. It will contain a complete list of suitable equipment.

Important! The list of acceptable devices is regularly updated and supplemented. If you want to use the new service, we recommend that you monitor it regularly.

Important Features

In order to watch Tricolor TV on a computer via the Internet without interruptions, the quality of the digital connection itself is very important. The operator places the following requirements on him:

  • operating speed – at least 5 Mbit/sec;
  • connection type – cable.

However, the last requirement is left to the discretion of the client. If a subscriber uses the World Wide Web via a satellite dish or SIM card, TV broadcasting will be less stable, but will still work.

Important! The cable must be connected to the main router that distributes the web signal to the home network. Client devices (TV, tablet, etc.) can be connected via Wi-Fi.

It is also necessary to take into account the connection diagram of set-top boxes in the house. If a subscriber has one of the receivers acting as a server that distributes a signal to other set-top boxes, Online TV will only work on the server. To extend the service to other television devices in the house, you should change the connection scheme.

  • Record channels and pause the broadcast. Very convenient features. You can program the recording using a timer or start it directly during the broadcast. You can pause the broadcast if you need to leave for a short time. These features certainly enhance your TV viewing experience. These capabilities are present in all modern receivers. However, there are exceptions. Tricolor receivers with recording: GS B521, GS B521H, GS B521HL, GS E521L, GS B531M, GS B532M, GS B533M, GS B534M, GS B531N, GS B5310, GS B5311, GS E502 and GS A230

  • Built-in memory. When using recording, you need to have a storage device. If it is not there, then the memory built into the receiver will not be of any use. It can be either purely symbolic or have impressive volumes. The following receivers have an integrated 8 GB drive: GS B531M, GS B531N and GS B532M. The GS B533M and GS B534M have twice the storage capacity. The 500GB internal and external hard drives are GS E502 and GS B521H respectively. And the flagship Tricolor GS A230 has a royal 1000 GB disk.

How to set up viewing?

Setting up the Online TV service consists of two stages:

  • physical connection of equipment;
  • setting operating parameters.

Important! All local network parameters are registered only on the TV. In order for a subscriber to be able to watch Tricolor TV channels on a tablet via the Internet, he will need to additionally activate the Multiscreen service.

Equipment installation

First of all, you need to connect the receiver to the global network. To do this you will need an Ethernet cable. One end of it is connected to the Ethernet connector of the set-top box. The second end of the cable is connected, depending on the topology of the home network:

  • to an internet outlet;
  • to a free LAN socket on the router.

We advise you to find out what you can do in your Personal Account on the operator’s website.

As a rule, access to the service appears automatically on the TV. If this does not happen, you must perform the following steps:

  • go to the console menu;
  • in the “Settings” section, select the “Network” subsection;
  • go to the “Manual” item;
  • Enter the local network parameters in the table that appears.

Important! All necessary data - IP addresses, subnet mask, etc. – can be obtained from your provider.

If everything is done correctly, the message “Connected” will appear on the screen. To check the correct operation, you can go to the “Status” item in the receiver menu. In it, in the “Internet TV” column, the following message should appear: “Connected”.
