There is nothing more annoying than the situation when the image twitches while watching your favorite TV show, or if the sound on Tricolor TV disappears. The most unpleasant thing is when it happened on one channel. This may indicate that the receiver is not configured correctly, or the settings on the TV are incorrect. You can deal with many troubles, when the sound crackles or disappears, or vice versa, there is no picture, you can do it yourself, without contacting technical support.
No sound on all channels
- Turn off silent mode. To do this, press the Mute button on the remote control.
- Inspect the cables for damage or corrosion. Carefully check whether the wires are tightly connected to the connectors.
- Reboot the receiver. Disconnect the receiver from the power supply for 10 seconds and plug it back in.
- Reset your device to factory settings and set up your device correctly.
- Install the latest firmware. You can check for updates via the Internet or on info channel No. 333.
- Check your satellite signal. Press the f1 or i button twice to open a table with signal strength and quality indicators - they should be above 70-80%.
If all else fails, then the problem is in the serviceability of the equipment - you need to contact Tricolor or a dealer for diagnostics and replacement.
How to check signal strength
To diagnose the signal level, the Tricolor has built-in utility indicators. To see them, select the channel search menu, where you will see a similar picture.
The “strength” scale indicates the intensity of the incoming signal, and the “quality” scale indicates its “intelligibility.” Ideally they should both be in the green zone.
! Before checking the signal level, it is recommended to reboot the converter. It often gives readings with a delay.
No sound on some channels
1. Check the cables
- Remove the wires from the receiver.
- Inspect them for damage and corrosion.
- Plug the cables back into the receiver. They must be tightly connected to suitable connectors.
RCA cables or tulips (3 cords) must be connected strictly to the appropriate sockets!
If the TV has only 2 outputs, then turn on the special mode in the receiver: “Menu - Settings - AV output settings - Audio output - Mono”.
2. Set up the audio track
- Press the green F2 button on the control panel.
- The audio track must be in “Russian” or “Russian AC3” format.
- If it is installed correctly, then reboot the receiver: disconnect it from the network for 10 seconds and turn it on again.
- If necessary, reset the settings to factory defaults and perform the setup again.
We update the software ourselves.
If it is impossible to install the update via satellite, which often happens when the receiver freezes during the update and the Tricolor receiver stops responding to remote control commands, try using a computer.
Connect the receiver and computer using a cable.
Older receivers (all DRE models and some GS) are updated via the RS-232 connector. To do this, use a special null modem cable. The use of USB to RS-232 adapters is undesirable, because may result in an incorrect update.
Run the flashing program on your computer.
After connecting the receiver to the computer with a cable, download General Satellite from the manufacturer’s website and install the GS Burner or DRE Burner firmware program that matches your equipment. Next, download the current version of the software, point the program to the path to the update files and wait for the installation to complete.
After the installation of the new software is completed, reboot the receiver.
If the receiver freezes during the update, after a forced reinstallation via a PC, the Tricolor TV receiver must be rebooted. This is necessary for the changes to take effect.
There is sound, but no picture
The algorithm of actions is almost no different from the first instruction:
- Check the cables for damage and whether they are tightly connected to the device. Take them out and reconnect.
- If you are using HDMI, try connecting other wires. Occasionally, older versions of the cable do not work after updating the receiver software or the connector itself is damaged.
- If the connection is via RCA tulips, then check whether the video cable is connected correctly: the yellow wire should be connected to the yellow socket (or green with a yellow outline).
- Reboot the receiver by turning off the power for 10 seconds and update the software via the Internet or on channel 333.
- Reset settings to factory defaults.
If the image ripples, blinks, or breaks into squares, there is a problem with the signal quality.
While watching a channel, open the information table (press the f1 or i button twice on the remote control). If the indicators are less than 70%, you need to tune the antenna again.
Reasons why the TV set-top freezes
Let’s immediately look at why the Tricolor prefix is stuck, because further actions depend on understanding these points. Main reasons:
- Outdated or inappropriate software.
- Errors in the update.
- Equipment overheating.
- Malfunction of internal elements.
- TV receiver malfunction. In this case, the orange (yellow) light will most likely still be on.
These reasons are the main ones, and it is because of them that the tuner periodically freezes immediately after turning on or after some time.
Why does Tricolor TV broadcast quality suffer?
The quality of the Tricolor satellite connection depends on many factors. These include the satellite itself, the volume of the boards, as well as their speed, receiver memory, signal transmission and reception options, and environmental conditions. Even the slightest failure can affect the quality of the received impulse.
Factors that may negatively affect the quality of Tricolor broadcasting:
- External are weather conditions and obstacles that arise in the path of the signal. For example, if the equipment was not used for a long period of time, then tall plants and new structures could appear in its path.
- Internal. The signal from the provider may disappear if the dish is deformed or its location is disturbed. In addition, the receiver or converter may be broken, the coaxial cable may be poorly connected, or the connection source may be incorrectly determined. Another cause of the problem could be reset settings or software.
If the poor signal quality is not caused by antenna deformation, then you should look for the problem in the television cable. The subscriber should carefully inspect the wires, finding out if there are any cracks or frays on them. Connectors and splitters can also reduce broadcast quality. A product of poor quality can oxidize, so experts recommend buying good separators with a double form of protection.
The TV often experiences interference when other household appliances are operating that emit radio waves. This could be a microwave, a lamp and a mobile phone. When installing new TV equipment, it is worth taking into account all of the above factors. It is better to place equipment away from each other.
In many cases, broadcast quality suffers due to a faulty converter. This element is fixed on a satellite dish for mirror reception of radio waves. If this device fails, it is better to replace it with a new one. A product that is under warranty can be replaced at the service center.
Solution
When using an HDMI adapter, instead of the “bells”, a color image should appear on the new TV. And it will have much higher quality and sound. You should not skimp on purchasing such a connection, especially since the price tag for it is low - around a hundred rubles.
In addition to this type, there is also a SCART connecting wire. The image quality improves when used. The type recommended for use is SCART PREMIER.
Well, if all these methods do not solve the problem, then check that the A/V output is configured correctly. To do this, you need to go to the main menu of the set-top box, select an item there in the TV Standard settings and change the color coding option. There are two types – PAL and SECAM. You need to replace them one by one and look at the result.
If the problem of the black and white image has not been resolved, then take the receiver to the company that installed it for you and ask them to check the set-top box. This is the most extreme case, if nothing else above has helped.
We watch TV (we have Tricolor TV). Suddenly an automatic update started (without any notifications). It popped up that you have to wait 50 minutes and you can’t turn it off. We are waiting... Everything has been updated and started working. Something changed on the screen when switching channels (in general, the whole picture of settings and others changed...). The receiver also began to display other symbols. Everything works and we continued watching TV. Having watched enough, we turned off the TV and pulled out the plug from the socket (as we always do). The next day they turned on the TV, but there was no sound. After reading the instructions, I tested the TV for sound, everything works. They write that it means a weak signal and something else. Then I tried to reset to factory settings (this is already a receiver). Everything worked out and the sound appeared. But as soon as I unplug the TV and turn it on again, the sound disappears again. I have to reset it again and configure all channels again. And it became like this all the time. How long does it take to turn on the TV? What's the matter? So what should I do? I wrote to tech support and am waiting for an answer. Maybe someone knows? Can you give me some advice? I will be grateful. I have two TVs connected to this dish. One simple one (analog, they call it) - it has not been updated and continues to work normally. And the second digital one - that’s what all happened to him.
How to contact the Tricolor operator?
Under any circumstances, you can contact Tricolor support for help. The most effective way is to call the telephone number: 8 . Even though there will be an answering machine, you will definitely be able to reach an operator.
A similar option is to use the company’s official website:
- Go to the official website and scroll down the page.
- In the “Online Help” section you can familiarize yourself with all communication methods and use any of them.
Use all available methods and receive not only useful information, but also real help.
Changing signal reception capabilities
If there is any obstruction between the antenna and the transmitter, signal reception may be affected. Such obstacles could be a new high-rise building, some kind of tall structure, etc. It happens that within 2-3 years after the antenna was installed, some kind of tree grew (or expanded), which was not given any importance when installing the antenna. And it may well create significant interference. In such cases, you must either remove the obstacle (if you have the right and opportunity to cut down this tree), or move the antenna to another location.
Why else might Tricolor not be shown?
In principle, we have considered all situations that could cause a breakdown and lack of signal. However, another problem due to which the broadcast may be disrupted is bad weather conditions. A thunderstorm, snowstorm or cloudiness can all cause a lack of signal. At the same time, critically low temperatures can cause icing of the antenna, which can also disrupt the performance of the Tricolor.
Keep these factors in mind and try not to watch Tricolor during a thunderstorm, as a strong discharge near the antenna can damage the equipment.
