Digital television in Tatarstan: list of channels and settings in 2019-2020.

Today Tatarstan was visited by Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of Russia Alexey Volin. At the ceremony to switch off analogue television broadcasting in the republic, he said that the old format was going “into retirement. Today, Tatarstan residents who have not yet switched their TVs from analogue to digital saw the so-called “white noise” on their screens. On all “buttons” except TNV. How to properly connect your TV to digital in order to continue watching TNV in analogue broadcasting - read the material from our online editorial office.

The TNV-Tatarstan TV channel will continue to broadcast in analogue broadcasting so that viewers throughout Tatarstan do not lose us. Thus, our viewers don’t have to switch to digital. Another thing is that people will not see Channel One, Russia and other central channels on analogue broadcasts. Thus, a digital set-top box is only necessary to view federal channels previously available on analogue. TNV will be available only in analogue.

That is, the TNV channel can be watched in analogue, as before. But the problem is that all federal TV channels are unavailable in analogue broadcasting from today. But there are technical ways to switch to digital while continuing to watch TNV in analog format.

INSTRUCTIONS for setting up digital channels in Tatarstan

1. If your TV cannot receive a DVB-T2 digital signal, then you need to purchase an inexpensive (900-1200 rubles) set-top box for digital TV to the TV, connect the antenna to the set-top box, and the output of the set-top box to the TV.

2. The connection of the set-top box to the TV is carried out with cables, which, as a rule, come with the set-top box. Using the remote control in the TV settings, you need to select the AV signal source - RCA input (or composite) when connecting via an RCA cable, or HDMI, if you connected the TV to a set-top box via an HDMI cable - this option is preferable, because transmits the signal to the TV more efficiently. On some TVs with a kinescope, the AV input is selected by switching channels down.

3. To set up channels, you need to auto-search for channels in the menu of the TV or set-top box. Read the instructions for your TV or set-top box. In the TV settings you need to select analogue and digital channels. After the search is completed, the set-top box or TV will show the available digital channels from two multiplexes in your area. The TV will also be shown by the TNV - Tatarstan channel, which is available in analogue format.

Note

Digital TV set-top boxes have varying specifications, and most cannot accept analogue signals. In this case, you need to connect the antenna to the set-top box and the TV through a divider (sometimes called a “splitter”, price 150-200 rubles), or the antenna output of the set-top box to the TV. Reception of digital federal channels must then be carried out through the set-top box, and the analogue TV channel “TNV - Tatarstan” through the TV, as usual.

If your TV can receive a DVB-T2 digital signal, then such a set-top box is not needed, and the receiving antenna is connected to the TV.

RESIDENTS OF KAZAN AND SUBURB WILL WATCH TNV IN HD

For residents of Kazan and its suburbs. Additionally, with the reception of the analogue signal of the television channel "TNV - Tatarstan" on 2 TVKs, it is possible to receive the HD television channels "TNV - Tatarstan" and "Shayan TV" in a digital multiplex on 23 and 26 TVKs. To receive these digital channels, the direction of the antenna must be towards n.a. Verkhniy Uslon

All questions about converting your TVs to digital broadcasting can be asked by phone by calling a special hotline: 8-800-222-87-16, 8-800-220-20-02.

The cost of the decoder set-top box is about 1000-2500 rubles. There is no subscription fee for CETV!

Additionally, a decimeter antenna is required - it can be either a common one or a home antenna. Regional authorities and management companies had to replace antennas on multi-story buildings, but in a country house or dacha it is necessary to replace the antenna yourself.

The cost of a decimeter antenna is no more than 2000 rubles. There is no subscription fee for CETV!

Equipment can be purchased at Russian Post offices, Rostelecom offices and other commercial organizations.

Setting up digital television takes a few minutes and does not require the help of a specialist. Use the standard menu for searching TV channels on TV or through a set-top box.

From October 14, analogue broadcasts of federal channels in the 21st region of Russia will stop.

TV viewers who have taken care of modern receiving equipment in advance will be able to receive 20 digital TV channels, and more. Several federal channels will remain in the “analog” channel, as well as a regional channel.

How to connect to digital terrestrial television and not lose the ability to receive regional and municipal channels in analogue format? Digital terrestrial television is broadcast in the decimeter range in the DVB-T2 digital television broadcasting standard. Regional and municipal channels in different areas can be broadcast in both the meter and decimeter ranges. That is, both in “analogue” and “digital”. How then should we take them? The best solution: an all-wave antenna. With its help, you can receive a signal in both ranges at once. For apartment buildings, the optimal method is a collective antenna on the roof of the house (CPT). It is also capable of receiving meter and decimeter bands simultaneously. In order to connect such a common antenna, you need to contact the house management company or the organization servicing the antenna park.

What should you do right now? Check to see if there is an "A" on your TV screens. This letter is placed next to the logo of 10 analogue TV channels. If the letter “A” is not on the screen, you are already watching “digital” on the air, on cable or via satellite. You won’t have to turn off anything, you don’t need to buy a set-top box. If you see the letter "A", it's time to move to the "number" side. To connect you do not need to have any special knowledge or skills. To receive the signal of the new standard, you must: 1) have a digital broadcast in your locality (you can check this on the website map.rtrs.rf); 2) the presence of a TV that supports the DVB-T2 standard and a UHF receiving antenna. If such equipment is not available, it must be purchased (instead of replacing the TV, you can purchase a set-top box with the appropriate characteristics); 3) to set up digital terrestrial television reception, just start the auto search for TV channels. You can also configure TV channels manually. To do this, you need to enter the frequency or number of the television channel. You can find it on the official website of RTRS in the section “Construction of a digital TV network” or on the website map.rtrs.rf.

How can you accurately determine that you are already watching CETV? There is one simple way: if you see the “Carousel” channel, then you are definitely in “digital”. This TV channel is not broadcast in analogue format.

Ministries of the Republic of TatarstanMinistry of Digital Development of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of TatarstanTransition to digital television

On October 14, 2021, a full-scale transition to digital television broadcasting took place in the Republic of Tatarstan.

To watch digital television you need to do the following:

  1. If your TV supports the digital standard DVB-T2, then to watch channels in digital format you just need to connect the TV to an antenna.
  2. If the TV does not support the required digital standard, then the antenna is connected to a DVB-T2 standard set-top box, and the set-top box is connected to the TV.

There are two ways to find out whether your TV supports the DVB-T2 digital standard:

  1. Look in the TV passport for the presence of the inscription DVB-T2. If the number 2 at the end is missing, it simply says DVB-T, which means your TV does not support the required format for receiving digital television broadcasts.
  2. Find characteristics on the Internet by brand name and model, for which you just need to indicate the model of your TV in the search field. On the page that appears, you need to click on the “all characteristics” button and find the “signal reception” item. In the case when your TV supports the digital terrestrial broadcasting standard, opposite this item it should be written - DVB-T/T2 MPEG4.

To watch digital terrestrial television, any TV needs an antenna that receives signals from both analogue and digital terrestrial television (all-wave).

For questions regarding digital terrestrial television, you can contact the hotline at 8-800-220-20-02.

Analogue broadcasting will be switched off in October

During the first two stages, analogue broadcasting was turned off in 27 regions of Russia. The third stage was supposed to be the most widespread - 36 regions were planned to be transferred to digital. But today, 14 regions from this list, including Tatarstan, have had their transition date moved from June 3 to October 14.

To watch digital terrestrial television, any TV needs an antenna that receives signals from both analogue and digital terrestrial television (all-wave). The transition to digital terrestrial television broadcasting will not affect subscribers connected to paid networks of cable television, IP television, satellite television, as well as subscribers of terrestrial television broadcasting whose television screens do not have the letter “A”. In this case, the connection to digital terrestrial television broadcasting occurred automatically.

We have already written in more detail about how to connect digital TV without buying a new TV. In addition, we remind you that volunteers will provide assistance to Chelny residents in the transition to digital TV.

For questions regarding the transition to digital terrestrial television, you can contact the Unified Information Center at 8-800-220-20-02.

Life after digital: Tatarstan TV channels hope to retain their audience

Chairman of the Union of Journalists of the Republic of Tatarstan, General Director of Television and Radio Ilshat Aminov believes that the division of TV into digital and analogue will not affect the audience of the main republican television broadcaster.

“I have hopes that our audience will remain. We do not expect any major shocks. Digital broadcasting will be in Kazan and Almetyevsk. In other populated areas, people who want to watch TNV will have this opportunity, since analogue broadcasting will remain, and the bulk of modern televisions will pick up both digital and analogue signals. Plus, channels “1” and “21” have a button on all cable networks. As for rural settlements, almost 300 thousand households in the republic are equipped with satellite receiving devices. We broadcast in all media, so we hope that this transition will be painless,” Aminov told RBC Tatarstan.

The general director of TNV noted that it will be possible to draw final conclusions only after June 3, and the company intends to carefully monitor television viewing figures.

Aminov added that work is underway to ensure that the third and fourth regional multiplexes can switch to a full-fledged broadcast mode. Now they are working in test mode in Kazan and Almetyevsk.

“If there is such a decision, then we will be able to create republican and regional multiplexes. We are working on this. There are not many regions that have such a base. Moreover, this is not just a digital multiplex, the picture there is in HD quality,” Aminov emphasized.

Let us recall that in January 2021, the Federation Council of the Russian Federation adopted a resolution “On the issues of transition to digital television broadcasting in the Russian Federation.” It, in particular, spells out the need to create a third multiplex in 2020-2021, which should include regional television channels.

TV director general Andrei Grigoriev, who was present at the meeting of the Federation Council, said: if a third multiplex is not created, then regional channels will not be competitive with federal ones and will gradually cease to exist. Answering a question about financing the project, he said that regional channels are capable of independently financing the construction of local multiplexes.

The President of Tatarstan agreed on compensation payments of up to 1 thousand rubles for low-income citizens for the purchase of digital set-top boxes and antennas. As Rifat Khannanov reported, the list of preferential categories that will receive a subsidy includes large families and families raising disabled children with an average per capita income below the subsistence level; single pensioners over 70 years old, and disabled people with an income below 20 thousand rubles.
