Kodi
After almost two years of development, the free media center Kodi 18 Leia, formerly known as XBMC, was released. Since the last version, more than ten thousand edits have been made to the application and nearly 500 thousand lines of code have been added.
Kodi is a free, open-source, cross-platform media player and home theater system. Its interface allows you to manage video files, photos and music that are stored on your computer, USB drives, on the Internet and local network. Convenient to operate the remote control.
The application has a multilingual interface and also requires an Android version of at least 5.0 Lollipop installed on the device. Without advertising. Full support for Android TV and remote control.
Key features of Kodi 18 Leia
- A games section has been added, allowing you to run various gaming applications, including the use of emulators and game engines available in Libretro. A large collection of retro game emulators is available for installation and a configurator is provided for setting up various game consoles, joysticks and gamepads.
- DRM (Digital Rights Management) support is provided for legal reproduction of copy-protected content. By connecting external CDM modules (Content Decryption Module) to decode DRM content, Kodi can now be used to access paid content provided by various providers.
- The tools for working with the music collection have been significantly redesigned. Tools for filtering and sorting content have been expanded (by source, type, gender of musician, etc.). API management has been accelerated. The operations of creating and maintaining a music library have been simplified.
- Improved Live TV support: added support for RDS (Radio Data System), automatic selection of channels/radio stations during startup. Improved PVR mode (watching Live TV, listening to Internet radio, working with an electronic TV guide and organizing video recordings according to a schedule). New backends Zattoo and Teleboy have been added.
- Added support for connecting binary add-ons and provided a repository of ready-made add-ons compiled for specific platforms. Many components (VFS, codecs, decoders, etc.), previously offered in the basic composition, were included in add-ons, which allowed the post office to halve the size of the installer.
- A transition to a modular architecture has been made, allowing the addition of new types of processors and content sources. Additions to the repository are currently only collected for Android, macOS and Windows, and for Linux it is proposed to use a PPA.
- Added the ability to navigate the Kodi content library from the main interface of Android TV devices using voice control and voice input (instead of the on-screen keyboard).
- Support for playing video and audio content has been expanded. Added support for new codecs and hardware acceleration mechanisms. High-quality processing of HDR and 4K/8K resolutions is provided. Improved Blu-ray support, including correct disc detection, metadata reading, BD-J menu support, and the ability to handle 3D video and stereoscopic output. Codecs are synchronized with FFmpeg 4.0. Improved support for ALSA, PulseAudio, OSS, Pi Audio, DirectSound, WASAPI, Darwin and SndIO audio subsystems.
- The graphical interface and theme engine have been redesigned. Improved interface responsiveness. The input system has improved support for switching keyboard layouts.
- The builds add support for a speech synthesizer and provide the ability to move Kodi to an SD card.

Torrent Media Center for Windows - Kodi 18.6 Leia in detail:
The big plus is the graphical interface: beautiful and absolutely professional, it doesn’t have to envy competitors from official operating systems... rather the opposite! The speed of program execution, despite the complexity of the graphics, is truly excellent. XBMC supports MPEG-1/2/4, DivX, XviD, MP3, AAC, JPG, GIF and others, and also plays CD/DVD discs (the latter can be read as captured files from the hard drive). XBMC also works with streaming media content broadcast on a local network or the Internet. It is possible to watch videos directly from the server, without first downloading. The VDR plugin for XBMC allows you to get a list of available channels, watch live TV, manage recording timers, and get an EPG for the selected channel. Plays everything possible in full screen mode, has a built-in two-panel file manager, photo viewing! XBMC can be extended to receive various other information from the Internet - weather forecasts, visualization systems, etc. Among the scripts/extensions there are both simple plugins for services and quite complex applications, for example an email client, various games.
Main features:
• Direct management of files in the cloud. • If necessary, Air Explorer can encrypt files when uploading them to the cloud. • Installs multiple accounts from one server. • You can synchronize folders between any “clouds” or your computer. • Multiply your storage capacity by combining all your clouds. • Copy/Paste between cloud servers. • Pause and continue downloading and uploading. • Air Explorer can share files. • Centralized search for files across all clouds. • Thumbnails of your photos. • Drag'n'Drop support for files between your computer and the clouds.
